Tariff Notice No. 1966/72 - Application for Withdrawal of Approval
Notice is hereby given that application has been made for withdrawal of the following approval of the Minister of Customs and for the future admission of the goods concerned at substantive rates of duty:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 8 September 1966. Submissions should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:
(a) The quality, range, supply, etc., of the above-described goods produced in New Zealand; and
(b) The landed cost and selling price, including c.d.v., and cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance, freight, exchange, other landing charges, duty, etc., of equivalent goods of overseas origin.

Tariff Notice No. 1966/73 - Review of Former Tariff Concessions
DECISIONS in respect of goods approved by the Minister of Customs under item 448 of the former Tariff, as set out in Schedule I hereto, are to be reviewed.
Persons desiring, or objecting to, the admission of any of these goods under Part II of the Tariff now in force should lodge submissions in writing on or before 8 September 1966.
Submissions, headed "448 Review", should be prepared separately for each of the decisions listed, and addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, supported by information as to:
(a) Full details of composition and nature of the goods;
(b) Purpose for which they are to be used;
(c) Quantity and frequency of importation (in terms of actual annual requirements);
(d) Usual source of supply;
(N.B. Where goods are not of Commonwealth origin, information as to availability from Commonwealth sources should be supplied);
(e) Availability (in terms of quantity, range, supply, etc.) of suitably equivalent goods of New Zealand production or manufacture.
Failure to supply information under all or any of the foregoing headings may prejudice consideration of the submissions.
Decisions in respect of goods approved by the Minister of Customs under item 448 of the former Tariff, as set out in Schedule II hereto, are revoked with effect from 8 September 1966. (The rates of duty for these goods under Part I of the Tariff now in force are the same or lower than the rates under item 448 of the former Tariff.)

Umbrella makers' materials—
Fringe declared by a manufacturer for use by him solely in making or repairing umbrellas or sunshades
Pins, windstop, being small tacks about ⅛ in. in length, with large heads
Straps for umbrella handles
Upholstery—Bindings, leathercloth
Cordage declared by a manufacturer for use by him only in making mattress handles
Cord, paper, declared for use in making upholstery
Cords of approved qualities, declared by a manufacturer for use by him only in making roller-blind pulis
Crown padding, being padding of waste material backed with paper
Flexolater pads, being pads made from paper cord and wire, for use in the manufacture of inner spring mattresses
Handles (including handles which incorporate ventilators), and parts for the manufacture thereof, for use on mattresses
Pipings (but not piping cords) of any material
Rolled edgings formed from paper or waste material, uncovered or covered with textile
Tape, ladder, wholly of plastic, other than woven plastic material, specially suited for use with venetian blinds
Twines, 2-16 ply of approved qualities, for making upholstery
