  1. Computation of Charges

Paragraph 1 (d) Omit this sub-paragraph and substitute:

(d) Except where otherwise provided the weights of two or more commodities in any consignment chargeable at the same rate may be grouped for charging purposes, but two or more commodities chargeable at different rates must be charged separately, provided that goods of Classes C, C plus 20%, or D, D less 25%, E plus 25%, or E plus 50% not exceeding 5 cwt in total weight may be grouped for charging purposes.

Paragraph 8 Omit this paragraph and substitute:

  1. Explosives—(a) Except as otherwise provided, goods of an explosive nature not permitted to be conveyed in wagons containing ordinary goods will be subject to an additional charge of 10s. per consignment (irrespective of the quantity or the distance hauled).

(b) Exception—The surcharge will not apply to small consignments of explosives which are railed in portable magazines. However, where the Department is unable to supply a portable magazine on request and the consignor elects to load the consignment in a wagon the surcharge will apply.

  1. Small Lots Scale

Omit paragraph 1 (a) heading and substitute:

(a) Goods classified at Class C, C plus 20%, D, D less 25%, E plus 25%, and E plus 50%.

  1. Class F

Omit paragraph 1 and substitute:

  1. Minimum Loads of goods chargeable at Class F rate will be as follows:

Omit Paragraph 15 sub-paragraph (b) and substitute:

  1. (b) Where Department’s cranes are used .. .. .. 1s. 3d. per 100 sup. ft. including cranage (minimum charge 5s.)
    (If no labour other than crane operator is provided a cranage charge of 10d. per 100 sup. ft. (minimum 2s. 6d. per consignment) will apply.)

  2. Class N

Omit paragraphs 1 and 2 and substitute:
