Notice Respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of Taupo Borough and Taupo County

It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, pursuant to section 12 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto be excluded from the County of Taupo and included in the Borough of Taupo. All persons affected who object to the proposed alteration of boundaries are hereby called upon to lodge any objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, within one month from the date of publication of this notice.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, containing 277 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks II and VI, Tauhara Survey District, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the shore of Lake Taupo, due west from the intersection of the south-western boundary of the part Waipahihi No. 12A 1 Block, with the production northerly of the western boundary of Waipahihi No. 4D 1 Block, and proceeding due east along a right line to that intersection, to and generally southerly along the aforesaid northerly production, to and along the western boundary of the last-mentioned block and the generally eastern side of State Highway No. 1, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of part Section 36, Block VI, aforesaid; thence south-westerly along a right line across the State highway, to and along the last-mentioned boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Section 120, Town of Tauhara (recreation reserve, N.Z. Gazette, 1961, page 1534) to the shore of Lake Taupo; thence generally northerly along that lake shore to the point of commencement.
