The Controlled (Non-resident) Accounts Notice 1966

PURSUANT to the Exchange Control Regulations 1965*, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Controlled (Non-resident) Accounts Notice 1966.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 17th day of June 1966.
  2. In this notice, the expression “non-resident account” means an account kept by any person in the name, or directly or indirectly for the benefit, of any person, or any two or more persons, if that person or any of those persons is—
    (a) Not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965);
    or
    (b) A trustee for or a nominee or agent of any person not ordinarily resident in New Zealand (within the meaning of the said regulations).
  3. The non-resident accounts specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be controlled accounts for the purposes of regulation 4B of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965 (as inserted by regulation 4 of the Exchange Control Regulations 1965, Amendment No. 1).

SCHEDULE

NON-RESIDENT ACCOUNTS DECLARED TO BE CONTROLLED ACCOUNTS

  1. Any non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on the business of banking outside New Zealand.
  2. Any non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any person carrying on, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, the business of arranging itineraries, accommodation, or other services for travellers, or otherwise providing travel agency facilities.
  3. Any non-resident account in New Zealand kept in the name or for the benefit of any of the following persons:
    (a) Deak and Co. Inc.:
    (b) Dirk Brink:
    (c) Thos. N. Arnold:
    (d) Otto E. Roethenmund:
    (e) North American Finance and Management Co.:
    (f) Perera Co. Inc.:
    (g) Nicholas Deak.
