Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  2. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

Roads Excluded From Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 8th day of July 1952†, which relates to Cromwell Borough is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Cromwell Borough:

No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) (from a point 1 chain measured westerly generally along the said highway from Antrim Street to the north-western boundary of Cromwell Borough).
Melmore Terrace (from a point 6 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said terrace from Govan Street to the south-western boundary of Cromwell Borough).

SECOND SCHEDULE

No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) (from a point 1 chain measured westerly generally along the said highway from Antrim Street to a point 6 chains measured westerly generally along the said highway from Barry Street).
