SECOND SCHEDULE
Each access lane shall be marked as follows:
-
Two 8-ft transit posts with a distance of not less than
20 ft between and painted with 12 in. bright orange and black
stripes shall be erected on land in line with each side of the
access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin. A
marker buoy, either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted
orange with a vertical black stripe, shall be moored to mark
the lake end of each side of the access lane. -
On each of the transit posts sited on the lake margin
there shall be fastened in line with the sides of the access lane
a notice board measuring not less than 2ft 6 in. by 2ft
painted orange with black lettering. -
The aforesaid notice board shall contain the following
notice:
"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
Access lane through which motor launches and water
skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles
per hour
BATHERS KEEP OUT"

Declaring Areas to be Access Lanes at Lake Taupo for the
Purposes of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962
Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister
of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of five years
from the date hereof, subject to compliance with the condi-
tions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, the areas of water
firstly to twelfthly described in the Second Schedule hereto
shall respectively be access lanes and that within such access
lanes regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations
1962 shall not apply.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Each access lane shall be marked as follows:
(1) Two 8-ft transit posts with a distance of not less than
20 ft between and painted with 12 in. bright orange and black
stripes shall be erected on land in line with each side of the
access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin.
(2) On each of the transit posts sited on the lake margin
there shall be fastened in line with the sides of the access lane
a notice board measuring not less than 2ft 6 in. by 2ft
painted bright orange with black lettering.
(3) The aforesaid notice board shall contain the following
notice:
"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
Access lane through which motor launches and water
skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per hour
BATHERS KEEP OUT"
(4) Where practicable marker buoys, either barrel, drum,
or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black
stripe, shall be moored 50 yd from the lake margin in line
with each set of transit posts and 200 yd from the lake margin
in line with each set of transit posts.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Firstly, All that area of water at Whangamata Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart
extending in a 246° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the
water, the eastern boundary being in line with the western
side of the beach access on the eastern side of the boat marina
entrance.
Secondly, All that area of water at Jerusalem Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by lines 160 yd apart at the
edge of the water, the southern boundary commencing
immediately northwards of the small reef in the middle of the
bay and extending in a 108° true direction 200 yd from the
edge of the water and the northern boundary extending in a
070° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water.
Thirdly, All that area of water at Rotongaio, Lake Taupo,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 310° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water,
the southern boundary being in line with the northern boundary
of the motor camp.
Fourthly, All that area of water at Hatepe, Lake Taupo,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 267° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water,
the northern boundary commencing 600 yd southwards of the
point at the southern end of the settlement.
Fifthly, All that area of water at Motutere Bay, Lake Taupo,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 338° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the
north-eastern boundary commencing 100 yards south-westwards
of the south-western end of Bulli Point.
Sixthly, All that area of water at Mission Bay, Lake Taupo,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 350° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water,
the western boundary commencing 1,200 yd eastwards of
Mission Point.
Seventhly, All that area of water at Motuoapa Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart
extending in a 025° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the
water, the eastern boundary commencing 500 yd westwards
of the launching ramp.
Eighthly, All that area of water at Stump Bay, Lake Taupo,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 018° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the
western boundary commencing 2 nautical miles eastwards of
the point at the eastern side of the Tongariro River delta.
Ninthly, All that area of water at Pukawa Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart
extending in a 070° true direction 200 yd from the edge of
the water, the south-eastern boundary commencing at a point
50 yd north-eastwards of the rocks at the south end of
Pukawa Bay.
Tenthly, All that area of water at Wild Fish Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart
extending in a 158° true direction 200 yd from the edge of
the water, the eastern boundary commencing 600 yd south-
westwards of Te Rae Point.
Eleventhly, All that area of water at Whanganui Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart
extending in a 068° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the
water, the southern boundary commencing 50 yd from the south
end of the beach.
Twelfthly, All that area of water at Waihaha Bay, Lake
Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart
extending in a 133° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the
water, the southern boundary commencing 50 yd from the
southern end of the beach.

Declaring Areas at Lake Manapouri to be Access Lanes for the
Purposes of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962
Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the
Minister of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of two
years from the date hereof, subject to compliance with the
conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the areas
described in the First Schedule hereto shall be access lanes,
and that regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regula-
tions 1962 shall not apply therein.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Firstly, All that area of water in Lake Manapouri within
200 yd of the edge of the water and bounded by parallel lines
200 yd apart, the southern boundary line being extended in a
310° true direction from a point on the shoreline of normal
lake level being 121 yds northward of the northern side of
the Doubtful Sound Tourist Co. Ltd. slipway as shown on
sketch plan M.D. 12195.
Secondly, All that area of water in Surprise Bay, Lake Mana-
pouri, within 200 yd of the edge of the water and bounded on
the sides by parallel lines 140 yds apart, the northern boundary
line being extended in a 110° true direction as the same is
shown on sketch plan M.D. 12195.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Each access lane shall be marked as follows:
(1) Two 8-ft transit posts with a distance of not less than
10 ft nor more than 20 ft between and painted with 12 in.
bright orange and black bands shall be erected on land in line
with each side of the access lane, the first post being sited on
the lake margin.
(2) On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake
margin there shall be fastened in line with the sides of the
access lane a notice board measuring not less than 2ft 6 in by
2ft painted bright orange with black lettering.
(3) The aforesaid notice board shall contain the following
notice:
"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962
Access lane through which motor launches and
water skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles
per hour
BATHERS KEEP OUT".
(4) A marker buoy, either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped,
painted bright orange with a vertical black stripe, shall be
suitably moored to mark the lake end of each side of the
access lane.
