Reserve Bank of New Zealand
PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of. business on 1 November 1965, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of: 20 per cent of that bank’s demand deposits in New Zealand plus 3 per cent of that bank’s time deposits in New Zealand (excluding wool retention deposits) as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 31 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964.
The balances to be maintained as aforesaid shall be exclusive of any balance held by a trading bank in its wool retention or special fund account at the Reserve Bank.

Trademarks—Goods Prohibited to be Imported
IT is hereby notified for public information that the following notification published in Gazette, No. 59, of 18 August 1927, is hereby cancelled.
“It is hereby notified for public information that under the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1908, goods of the nature set forth hereunder, to which the trade-marks described below have been falsely applied, are prohibited from importation into New Zealand.
“If any such goods are imported they will be liable to detention and to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of that Act.
“A trade-mark is deemed, for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, to be falsely applied to goods if it is applied without the assent of the proprietor of such trade-mark.
Nature of Goods Description of Trade-mark
Mops, dusters, and The Mark ‘O=Cedar’, in infringement of the registered trade-mark No. 11694, the property of O’Cedar Ltd. of Slough, Buckinghamshire, England, of the word ‘O’Cedar’ being a mark so nearly resembling the said registered trade-mark as to be calculated to deceive.”

Submissions should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:
(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportions of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
