Declaring the East Waikato Rabbit District, the Matamata County Rabbit District, and the Matamata Rabbit District to be United to Form the East Waikato Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 8232)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that on and from the 9th day of August 1965 the East Waikato Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 15th day of December 1931,* the Matamata Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day of February 1961†, and the Matamata County Rabbit District, which was constituted pursuant to the Rabbits Amendment Act 1964, shall be united and shall form one district having the name of the East Waikato Rabbit District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto, and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST WAIKATO RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Matamata County and Putaruru Borough, containing 218,450 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the middle of the Waikato River (Karapiro Lake) and the production south-westerly of the south-eastern boundary of part Lot VI, D.P. 3300, situated in Block XVI, Cambridge Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly up the middle of the said river to and up the middle of the Piarere Stream to the intersection of the south-westerly production of the south-eastern boundary of Section 76, Block XVI, aforesaid (roadman’s cottage, Gazette 1945, page 1552), and along a right line to and along the said south-eastern boundary, and its production to and generally easterly along the middle of State Highway No. 1, State Highway No. 29, Totmans Road, the Rotorua Branch Railway, the Waiomou Main Road, down the middle of the Oraka Stream, and up the middle of the Waihou River to a point in line with the northern boundary of part Rangitanuku 1A, situated in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District; thence again easterly along a right line to and along the aforesaid northern boundary, crossing the intervening Rangitanuku Road, to and along the western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 13337, and the southern boundary of the said Lot 2, and along the last-mentioned southern boundary produced to and along the middle of Te Poi Road, Raparapa Road, State Highway No. 29, and the public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 60, Selwyn Settlement, to the north-eastern boundary of the Matamata County; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that county as described in Gazette 1950, page 277, to a point due east of the southern boundary of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; thence due west along a right line to and along the southern boundaries of Blocks VII, VI, V, and IV, all blocks being of the aforesaid survey district, to and generally southerly along the generally eastern boundaries of Block XII, Tapapa Survey District, and Block IV, Patetere North Survey District, along the generally north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 166 to and along the north-western boundaries of Sections 76 and 77A, along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced across State Highway No. 5 to and along the southern side of that highway and along the generally western boundaries of Section 77, part Section 1, and again southerly along the eastern boundary of Patetere North Survey District to and easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Whaitikuranui part 1A 5, part N 1A (scenic reserve, Gazette 1907, page 2303), along a right line crossing the Rotorua Branch Railway, and continuing along the eastern boundaries of Whaitikuranui part N 1A and part 1BY (scenic reserve, Gazette 1907, page 2303), to the south-western corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Patetere North-east Survey District; thence easterly generally along the southern boundary of the said section, along the western and southern boundaries of Section 10, Block XIII, Rotorua Survey District, along the western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Horohoro Survey District, along that boundary produced across a public road which forms the northern boundary of Section 8, Block I, Horohoro Survey District, to and along the southern side of that public road to the eastern boundary of the Matamata County as described in Gazette 1950, page 277, and southerly along that boundary to the middle of the Mokaihaha Stream; thence generally westerly down the middle of that stream, down the middle of the Opakau Stream to and northerly along the eastern boundary of Te Ranga No. 2, and that boundary produced to the middle of the Whakapiwai Stream; thence down the middle of that stream and the Ngutuwerā Stream to and southerly along the middle of the Te Rere Road to the middle of State Highway No. 1 in Block III, Patetere South Survey District; thence again westerly generally along the middle of the aforesaid highway to and along the middle of the Wiltsdown Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Waotu South No. 14 in Block I, Patetere South Survey District; thence southerly along the said western boundary, to and westerly, southerly, and easterly along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 22069, to and southerly and westerly generally along the eastern and southern boundaries of parts Matanuku No. 3, comprised in certificates of title, Volume 47, folios 216 and 217, to and southerly along the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 21949, to and westerly along the northern boundaries of parts Matanuku 2B 2, 2F 2, 2G 2, and 2E 2, shown on D.P. 21718, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waikato River (Arapuni Lake) in Block VIII, Wharepapa Survey District; thence northerly generally down the middle of the Arapuni Lake, Waikato River, and Karapiro Lake to the point of commencement.
