  1. Traffic to or from Port Whangarei Wharf

The haulage charge on goods between Whangarei and Port Whangarei will be computed as per subpara. (b), para. 5, section 96, General Scale of Charges. Minimum loads: General cargo, 3 tons per four-wheeled wagon; other goods, 6 tons per four-wheeled wagon. For handling and/or sorting at Whangarei charges as per subpara. (d), para. 5, and subpara. (a), para. 2, section 96, General Scale of Charges, will be enforced. The charges on goods conveyed between the wharf and stations beyond Whangarei will be computed on the Whangarei milage plus 2 miles.

  1. Haulage and Storage Charges, New Plymouth - Breakwater Line

  2. (a) Except as provided in subparas. (b) and (c) hereof, goods of Classes C, D, E, E plus 25 per cent, E plus 50 per cent, and G between New Plymouth and New Plymouth Breakwater will be charged 16s. 8d. per ton and will be conveyed at owner’s risk.
    Small lots, pro rata, minimum charges as follows:

(b) Cement packed in paper bags will be charged 17s. 10d. per ton.
Small lots of cement packed in paper bags will be charged in accordance with the scale shown in subpara. (a).

(c) In cases where loading and/or unloading is performed by the Department, the charges for goods of classes N, P, and R in less than the prescribed minimum wagon loads will in no case be less than when computed on actual weight at the classified rates for such goods plus the prescribed loading and/or unloading charges.

  1. Class E goods consigned between New Plymouth Breakwater and stations beyond New Plymouth and which require to be handled at New Plymouth goods shed will be charged 19s. per ton (including handling and sorting at New Plymouth) in addition to railage from Breakwater. The charge at Class E single rate plus 19s. per ton added shall not be greater than when computed at Class E plus 25 per cent plus 5s. sorting.

  2. Livestock carried between the Moturoa cattle yards and the New Plymouth Breakwater will be charged £2 5s. per H or J wagon, £3 per Hc or Jc wagon, and £4 10s. per bogie wagon.

  3. See Local Rates, section 1, for the rate for butter and cheese from Moturoa to New Plymouth Breakwater.

  4. Small lots of goods for shipment, stored at New Plymouth, will be charged at the rate of 2s. 6d. per ton per day or part of a day (minimum charge, 1s. per day): Provided that after receipt of notification from ship’s owner or agent of acceptance of cargo for the ship no charge will be made for the day of loading in railway wagon and the day of shipment.

  5. Goods discharged ex-ship at New Plymouth Breakwater and conveyed to New Plymouth for delivery will be allowed free storage on the first day they are available for delivery. After the expiration of this period storage will be charged at the following rates:

For the first four days, per day or part thereof .. 2s. 6d. per ton. Minimum charge, 1s. per day.
Each succeeding day or part thereof .. 5s. per ton. Minimum charge, 2s. per day.

  1. The charges on ship’s goods Classes C, D, and G, will be computed in accordance with section 127, General Scale of Charges.
