Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Heretaunga Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 11 August 1931, and published in the Gazette, No. 61, Volume II, page 2326, on 20 August 1931.

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 7 May 1940, and published in the Gazette, No. 41, Volume II, page 1036, on 9 May 1940, and registered as K. 24424.

Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Ruatoki Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 19 January 1954, and published in the Gazette, No. 7, Volume I, page 122, on 28 January 1954.

Notice of Licensing and Trust Poll in Birkenhead Special Area
WHEREAS under section 14 of the Licensing Amendment Act (No. 2) 1953, the Licensing Control Commission has determined that a poll shall be taken in the special area of Birkenhead on a proposal that the issue of licences be authorised therein (herein referred to as the licensing proposal) and on a further proposal that if the licensing proposal is carried, every licence so authorised be issued to a local Trust (herein referred to as the Trust proposal).
Now therefore, the Commission, acting under the authority of that section hereby authorises the taking of the said poll and specifies that the majority required to carry the licensing proposal shall be more than half of all the valid votes recorded in respect of that proposal. The Trust proposal shall be deemed to have been carried if the number of valid votes recorded for that proposal exceeds the number of valid votes recorded against that proposal.
The Commission now directs that:
- The poll be held within the area defined as the Borough of Birkenhead, N.Z. Gazette, 1935, page 747.
- The Returning Officer appointed for the taking of the poll shall be Paul Henry Kortegast, Returning Officer for the Borough of Birkenhead.
- The poll shall be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., on Saturday, 1 May 1965, at the several polling places appointed and advertised by the Returning Officer.
- The rolls of electors of the Borough of Birkenhead shall be the rolls to be used for the purposes of this poll.
- A supplementary roll for persons who have qualified since the last supplementary roll closed shall close at 6 p.m., on Thursday, 8 April 1965.
- The period fixed for special voting shall commence at 9 a.m., on Thursday, 15 April 1965, and extend to the hour fixed for the close of the poll.
- The cost of the poll shall be borne by the Birkenhead Borough Council.
