Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 21st day of December 1964.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for better utilisation; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post Office at Whitianga and is there open for inspection; and that every person affected by the taking of the said land should set forth in writing any objection he may wish to make to the taking of the land, not being an objection to the amount of compensation, and send the written objection within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 31—Change in Date of Public Inquiry Into Import Duties on Fork Lift Trucks

1. Notice is hereby given that the public inquiry by the Tariff and Development Board into import duties on fork lift trucks which was to have commenced on Monday, 8 March 1965, in the Board Room, First Floor, New Zealand Law Society Building, Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, will now commence at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, 29 March 1965.

2. Twelve copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered at the public inquiry should be lodged with the undernamed not later than Monday, 15 March 1965.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as at the close of business on 11 December 1964, and until further notice, balances to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each trading bank shall be equal to an amount which, when added to that bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes as disclosed in that bank’s latest available weekly return of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, will be not less than the aggregate of: 27 per cent of that bank’s demand liabilities in New Zealand plus 3 per cent of that bank’s time liabilities in New Zealand (excluding wool retention deposits) as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.

The balances to be maintained as aforesaid shall be exclusive of any balance held by a trading bank in its wool retention or special fund account at the Reserve Bank.
