Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Governor of the Reserve Bank acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 7 December 1964, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that, when added to that bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less than 29 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.

Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.

For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.

National Roads Board—Notice Prohibiting Fishing From Bridge on State Highway

PURSUANT to National Roads Board Bylaw 1961,* No. 1, the Board prohibits fishing from the Bridge described hereunder:

The Pare mata Bridge on No. 1 State Highway at milage 608+8.

Law Practitioners Act 1955

PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society, on the 25th day of November 1964, ordered that the name of Gordon Herbert Donaldson Grant, of Auckland, barrister and solicitor, be removed from the Roll of Barristers of the Supreme Court of New Zealand and from the Roll of Solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.

Law Practitioners Act 1955

PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society, on the 25th day of November 1964, ordered that the name of John Jeremy Fordham, of Wellington, barrister and solicitor, be removed from the Roll of Solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at his own request, to enable him to apply for call to the English Bar.

Declaring the Boundaries of the Gore Abattoir District and Specifying the Gore Borough Council as the Controlling Authority of the Gore Abattoir (Notice No. Ag. 8093)

PURSUANT to section 15(7) of the Meat Act 1939, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purpose of the said section, notice is hereby given as follows:

  1. The Gore Abattoir District shall henceforth comprise all that area of land situated in the Southland County, Gore Borough, Mataura Borough, and Wyndham Town District and described as follows:

Commencing at the westernmost point of the Waikaia Riding of the County of Southland, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1910, page 3358, thence north-easterly, easterly, and southerly generally, along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said County of Southland, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1964, page 97, to the southern boundary of Mataura Riding of the said County, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1926, page 393; thence westerly, generally along the northern boundary of the said riding, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the Town District of Wyndham, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1882, page 1137; thence to and along the eastern boundary, the south-eastern boundary, and the southern boundary of the said Town District, and that last-mentioned boundary produced, to the eastern boundary of Waihopai Riding of the said county, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1962, page 401; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundary of the said Waihopai Riding and the western boundary of Mataura Riding aforesaid, to the southern boundary of the Borough of Mataura, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1926, page 393; thence westerly along the the southern boundary of the said Borough to the centre line of State Highway No. 1; thence southerly along the centre line of the said State highway to the southern boundary of Hokonui Riding of the County of Southland, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1964, page 97; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of the said riding to the westernmost point of the said riding; thence due north by a right line to the point of commencement.

  1. The Gore Borough Council shall continue to be the controlling authority of the Gore Abattoir.
