a “Electrical wiring for radio sets” means—
(1) The installation and connection of any earthing conductor used for any radio apparatus.
(2) The connection of a flexible cord to any radio apparatus or any plug top, ceiling-rose, or other connector used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(3) The replacement of any flexible cord used for supplying electrical energy to any radio apparatus and used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(4) The replacement of a fuse link on any subcircuit used to supply electrical energy to any radio apparatus.
(5) The removal and/or replacement of any radio apparatus as a whole or in part and which is connected to the fixed wiring by means of a flexible cord.
(6) The assembly, alteration, and/or repair of any radio apparatus.

b “Radio experimenter” means—
The following work associated with amateur radio experimental work only—
(1) The replacement of fuse links.
(2) The connection and replacement of flexible cords.
(3) The earthing of sets.
(4) The disconnection and reconnection of sets.
(5) The assembly and repair of sets.

c “Radio interference suppression” means—
The following work associated with radio interference suppression only, carried out for and whilst employed by the Post Office—
(1) The temporary installation and temporary connecting of any earthing conductor used for any radio apparatus or interference filter.
(2) The temporary connecting of a flexible cord to any apparatus, or any plug top, ceiling-rose, or other connector used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(3) The temporary replacement of any flexible cord used for supplying electrical energy to any apparatus and used between the fixed wiring and such apparatus.
(4) The replacement of a fuse link on any subcircuit.
(5) The temporary removal and/or temporary replacement of any apparatus as a whole or in part and which is connected to the fixed wiring by means of a flexible cord.
(6) The removal of conductors from the terminals of stationary electrical apparatus, the insertion of filters and the reconnection of the conductors for trial and demonstration purposes only.
(7) The maintenance of the power equipment associated with radio apparatus.

d “Luminous discharge tubes” means—
(1) The servicing of fluorescent lighting fittings.
(2) The servicing of 230 volt flasher units.
(3) The following work associated with equipment used for luminous discharge tube signs or for other display purposes which (other than the 230 volt flasher unit circuit) is designed to operate at a voltage in excess of 650:
(i) The replacement of fuse links.
(ii) The earthing of such equipment.
(iii) The connection or disconnection of such equipment to or from the fixed wiring.
(iv) The assembly and repair of such equipment.

e “The operation of motion and sound pictures” means the following electrical wiring work in a theatre—
(I) The replacement of subcircuit fuse links; and
(II) The following work in connection with sound-film equipment only—
(1) The adjustment and/or replacement of component parts in the sound system from the power transformer to the output; and
(2) The adjustment and/or replacement of fractional horse-power motors and control equipment for projector drives, arcs, rewinding, exhaust as applied to lamp-house ventilation, rectifier cooling system, gramophone records, the curtain, and for the lighting effects; and
(3) Servicing rectifiers used in connection with supply to an arc; and
(4) The adjustment and/or replacement of a change-over mechanism; and
(5) Servicing the direct current side of the motor-generator used in connection with supply to an arc; and
(III) Servicing theatre emergency lighting.

f “Secondary of radio sets” means—
Work on the secondary side of the power transformer of radio sets.

g “N.Z. Broadcasting Corporation” means the following work carried out for and whilst employed by the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation—
(1) The replacement of fuse links.
(2) The connection and replacement of flexible cords.
(3) The earthing of appliances.
(4) The disconnection and reconnection of appliances.
(5) The assembly and repair of appliances.
(6) The assembly and repair of radio apparatus.

h “Automatic telephone and impulse signalling equipment” means—
Assembly and repair of automatic telephone and impulse signalling equipment. Also the installation of such equipment including wiring of circuits designed for a voltage not exceeding 50 volts.

i “Refrigeration Serviceman” means—
(1) The replacement of fuse links.
(2) The connection and replacement of flexible cords.
(3) The earthing of appliances and the following work associated with electrically operated refrigeration equipment only:
(i) The adjustment or replacement of motor control equipment restricted to motors of 5 h.p. or under.
(ii) The adjustment or replacement of solenoid valves, pressure switches, and thermostats.
(iii) The assembly of refrigeration units.
(iv) The disconnection and reconnection of unit motors not exceeding 5 h.p.
