Appointment of Examiners of Masters and Mates

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952, sections 20 and 21, I, William John Scott, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint:

John Crossley Naylor, and
Michael James Norman

to be Examiners of Masters and Mates, and Examiners in Sight Tests for the purpose of the Shipping and Seamen Act 1952, as from the date hereof.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for plantation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Revocation of the Reservation of Part of a Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How Proceeds Shall be Utilised

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further, declares that the said land may be disposed of by the Invercargill City Council at current market value, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid into the Council's reserves account, such moneys to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other recreation reserves under the control of the Council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for recreation purposes.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (i) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940* to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Change of the Purpose of Part of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of that part of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for a gravel pit subject to the right of the public to take gravel therefrom, to a reserve for a site for a public hall.
