The George Medal

His Excellency the Governor-General has announced that The Queen has been pleased to approve the award of the George Medal to Mr Ivan Vivian Graham and Mr Robert Alexander McDowell, both of Christchurch, in recognition of their courage in rescuing a fellow swimmer who had been attacked by a shark at St. Clair Beach, Dunedin, on the 5th day of February 1964.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Motor Vehicles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956

PURSUANT to clause (2) of regulation 41 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves for the purpose of the said regulations red reflectors of the makes and types described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

RED reflectors incorporated in the tail lamp assemblies of Mercedes Benz motor cars of the following models: 170, 190, 190SL, 219, 220, 220S, 220SE, 230SL, 300, and 300SE.

Approval of Safety Glass for Windscreens

PURSUANT to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of regulation 46 (3) of the said regulations "Tuflite" glass as safety glass for use in windscreens.
