Reservation of Land and Declaration That Land be Part of a Public Domain

New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Regional Districts Notice 1964

PURSUANT to section 2 of the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Act 1963, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Regional Districts Notice 1964.

2. For the purposes of the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Act 1963:

(a) The Auckland Regional District shall comprise the area set out in the First Schedule to this notice;

(b) The Wellington Regional District shall comprise the area set out in the Second Schedule to this notice;

(c) The Canterbury Regional District shall comprise the area set out in the Third Schedule to this notice;

(d) The Otago Regional District shall comprise the area set out in the Fourth Schedule to this notice.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AUCKLAND REGIONAL DISTRICT

ALL that area in the North Island of New Zealand bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast at the north-western corner of Clifton County and proceeding northerly, south-easterly, and south-westerly generally along the sea coast to the north-eastern corner of Hawke’s Bay County; thence westerly generally along the generally northern boundaries of Hawke’s Bay, Rangitikei, and Waimarino Counties, the north-eastern boundaries of Stratford County and the eastern and northern boundaries of Clifton County to the point of commencement, and including therein all adjacent islands outside the confines of the Hauraki Gulf except Great Barrier, Little Barrier, and Kawau Islands; and excluding therefrom that part of the North Island contained between the northern boundary of Waitemata County, the southern boundary of Franklin County and the sea coasts.

SECOND SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON REGIONAL DISTRICT

ALL that area in the North Island of New Zealand bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast at the north-western corner of Clifton County and proceeding easterly generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of that county, the north-eastern boundaries of Stratford County, and the northern boundaries of Waimarino, Rangitikei, and Hawke’s Bay Counties to the sea coast; thence south-westerly and northerly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement, and including therein all adjacent islands.

THIRD SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY REGIONAL DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Island of New Zealand bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast at the north-western corner of Lake County and proceeding north-easterly, south-easterly, and south-westerly generally along the sea coast to the easternmost corner of Waitaki County; thence westerly generally along the generally north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Waitaki County and the generally northern boundaries of Vincent and Lake Counties to the point of commencement, and including therein all adjacent islands but excluding therefrom the catchment area of the Hakataramea River and its tributaries in the Waimate and Mackenzie Counties.

FOURTH SCHEDULE

OTAGO REGIONAL DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Island of New Zealand bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast at the north-western corner of Lake County and proceeding easterly generally along the northern boundaries of Lake and Vincent Counties, and the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Waitaki County to the sea coast; thence south-westerly, westerly, and north-easterly generally along the sea coast to the point of commencement, and including therein all adjacent islands, Stewart Island County, and the catchment area of the Hakataramea River and its tributaries in the Waimate and Mackenzie Counties.
