NOTE—Any person who intends to appear on the hearing of the petition must serve on or send by post to Messrs Lane, Neave, and Wanklyn, of 90 Hereford Street, Christchurch, notice in writing of his intention so to do. The notice must state the name, address, and description of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address, and description of the firm, and an address for service within 3 miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, and must be signed by the person or firm, or his or their solicitor (if any), and must be served or, if posted, must be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named petitioner's address for service not later than 4 p.m. on the 8th day of September 1964.

PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Redemption Loan 1964, £23,000

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of twenty-three thousand pounds (£23,000) authorised to be raised by the Paeroa Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for repaying on maturity those portions of the Water Reticulation Loan 1953, £42,000, which mature on 1 November 1964 and 28 March 1965, the Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal eight six of a penny (0·86d.) upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Paeroa; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council held on the 13th day of August 1964.

BOROUGH OF MANUREWA

NOTICE OF MAKING OF SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Manurewa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £45,000 authorised to be raised by Manurewa Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, and for the purpose of constructing a water reservoir, purchasing the site therefore, and laying water mains, the said Manurewa Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of nought decimal two four four eight pence (0·2448d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Manurewa comprising the whole of the Borough of Manurewa; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of this loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION LEVYING SECURITY RATE

Korokoro Sewerage Redemption Loan 1964, £10,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Petone Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the annual charges in respect of the said loan the Petone Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of twenty-five four-hundredths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Petone Borough, comprising the whole of the Petone Borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan 1964, £12,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £12,000 authorised to be raised by the Clifton County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the making of advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Clifton County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal one four five eight seven five of a penny (0·145875d.) in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property comprising the whole of the County of Clifton; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE

Streets Reconstruction Loan No. 15, 1964, £29,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-nine thousand pounds (£29,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing the Eastern Hutt Road from the Stokes Valley Entrance to High Street, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three hundred and five thousandths of a penny (0·305d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be incorporated and added to the Consolidated Special Rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 years, or until such time as the loan is paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on 10 August 1964.

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pensioners Cottages Loan 1964, £6,350

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1956, the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of £6,350 to be raised under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of pensioners cottages, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three farthings in the £ upon the rateable value on the basis of the annual value of all rateable property situated in the Borough of Lyttelton; and that rate shall be an annual-recurring rate and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council held on Monday, 17 August 1964.
