Declaration Affecting Farming Businesses for Income Tax Purposes in Relation to a Drought

PURSUANT to section 103A of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Minister of Finance hereby declares the drought in the under-mentioned localities during the spring of 1963, the summer of 1963–1964, the autumn of 1964 and so far as it extends thereto during the winter of that last-mentioned year, to be an event, happening, or cause (within the meaning of those words as used in subsection (5) of the said section) adversely affecting farms or livestock generally in those localities.

The Counties of Mangonui, Whangaroa, Hokianga, Bay of Islands, and Whangarei and the following parts of the Rodney, Otamatea, and Hobson Counties:

1. Waipu Survey District: Survey blocks 10, 11, 14, and 15.
2. Mangawhai Survey District: Survey blocks 1 to 4 inclusive.
3. Otamatea Survey District: Survey blocks 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, and 12.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Invercargill City Council on the 24th day of March 1964: “That, public notice in that behalf having been duly given as required by law and no objections having been received in respect of the proposal the Invercargill City Council in pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, hereby resolves that the lands more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, being lands vested in fee simple in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Invercargill, be and the same are hereby declared to be reserves for the purpose of recreation subject to the provisions of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953”.
