ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the left bank of the Waimumu Stream with the centre line of the No. 1 National State Highway; thence northerly generally along the left bank of the Waimumu Stream to the northern boundary of the Town of Matarua; thence easterly along the said northern boundary and that boundary produced to the middle of the Matarua River; thence northerly generally up the middle of the Matarua River to a point in line with the southern boundary of the Borough of Gore as hereinbefore described; thence westerly to and along the said southern boundary and northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of the Borough of Gore to the middle of the Matarua River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of the Matura River and up the middle of a branch of the Matarua River at the south of Section 540, Block XVII, Hokonui Survey District, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 715; thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 1, across the Ardlussa-Riversdale road, and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 4, of 407A, Block XVII, aforesaid, along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 715, to the south-western corner of Lot 4, along a right line to the junction of the centre lines of the No. 94 Provincial State Highway and the Sandstone-Kingston Crossing road, along the centre-line of the said Sandstone-Kingston Crossing road to the centre line of Orr Road, and along the centre line of Orr Road to the middle of Longridge Creek; thence southerly generally down the middle of Longridge Creek to its confluence with Waimea Stream; thence south-easterly generally down the the middle of Waimea Stream to its confluence with Cowan’s Creek; thence southerly generally up the middle of Cowan’s Creek to a point in line with the north-western corner of Section 999, Block XLVI, Hokonui Survey District, and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 999 to the middle of the Otamita Stream; thence south-easterly generally down the middle of the Otamita Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 448, Block XLVII, Hokonui Survey District; thence westerly to and along the southern boundaries of Section 448 and part of Run 119B, Block XLVII, aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of Block LXIII, Hokonui Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Block LXIII to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Forest Hill Hundred to the northern boundary of Lindhurst Hundred; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Lindhurst Hundred to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 61, Block I, Lindhurst Hundred; thence southerly along a right line, to and along the eastern boundary of the said Section 61, to the northern boundary
of a public road adjoining Section 18, Block I, aforesaid; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said public road, Lot 1, D.P. 2517, and part Lot 23, D.P. 176A, to the north-eastern corner of the said part Lot 23; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said part Lot 23 and that boundary produced to the centre line of the No. 96 Provincial State Highway; thence easterly generally along the centre line of the No. 96 Provincial State Highway to the centre line of the No. 1 National State Highway; thence north-easterly along the centre line of the No. 1 National State Highway to the point of commencement.

For the purpose of taking evidence on this subject the Board will hold a public inquiry commencing on Tuesday, 12 May 1964, at 10 a.m., in the Boardroom, First Floor, New Zealand Law Society Building, Waring Taylor Street, Wellington.

Any person who intends to tender evidence should comply with the “Notes for the Guidance of Witnesses”, which have been prepared by the Board. A copy of these notes may be obtained from the undernamed.

Twelve copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered, compiled in accordance with these notes, should be lodged with the undernamed not later than Tuesday, 28 April 1964. Each statement will, in general, need to be presented under oath at the public inquiry by the person tendering it.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—NELSON CONSERVANCY
SECTION 26, Block X, Tadmor Survey District, Waimea County: Area, 13 acres and 20 perches, more or less. Comprised in all certificate of title, Volume 38, folio 175. As shown on plan No. 108/107 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red (S.O. Plan 7214).
