Chapter 4: Residential Buildings
PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards
Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above-mentioned
draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies on loan from the New Zealand Standards Institute,
Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington
C. 1.

Bay of Plenty Catchment Area Established, and Eastern Bay
of Plenty Catchment Area Abolished
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers
Control Act 1941, the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control
Council hereby abolishes the Eastern Bay of Plenty Catchment
Area, constituted by notice published in Gazette of 26 October
1961, No. 68, at page 1672, and assigns the name Bay of
Plenty Catchment Area to the territory described in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
All that area in the South Auckland and Gisborne Land
Districts, Counties of Matamata, Opotiki, Rotorua, Taupo,
Tauranga, Wairoa, and Whakatane, Cities of Rotorua and
Tauranga, and Boroughs of Kawerau, Mount Maunganui,
Murupara, Te Puke, and Whakatane, commencing at the
south-eastern corner of part Lot 1, D.P. 28882, on the shores
of the Bay of Plenty, in Block I, Katikati North Survey
District, and proceeding south-easterly along the shore of the
Bay of Plenty to the eastern extremity of the Ohope Land
Spit, being a point on the western shores of the entrance to
Ohiwa Harbour in Block VII, Whakatane Survey District;
in Block VIII, Waimana Survey District, to and southerly
along the eastern watershed of the Whakatane River and
south-westerly generally along the generally south-eastern
watersheds of the Whakatane and Rangitaiki Rivers, to and
northerly generally along the generally western watershed
of the Rangitaiki and Tarawera Rivers, to and north-westerly
generally along the north-eastern watersheds of the Waikato
and Waihou Rivers, to and northerly along the eastern side
of South Road, the generally north-western boundaries of
Section 6, Block XIV, Rotorua Survey District, the western
boundary of part Okoheriki 2B, along a right line across
the Auckland-Rotorua Railway and a public road to and
along the south-western boundary of part Section 3, Block
XIV, Rotorua Survey District, to and still northerly along
the eastern side of Maraeroa Road and that eastern roadside produced across State Highway No. 5 to and north-
westerly generally along the north-eastern side of that highway to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Block X,
Patetere North-east Survey District; thence along a right
line to the north-eastern corner of Block IV, Patetere North-
east Survey District; thence along the northern boundary
of that block to the intersection of the last-named boundary
with a right line joining the westernmost corner of Section
46, Selwyn Settlement, with Trig. Station 910 (Te Kauranga)
in Block II, Tapapa East Survey District; thence northerly
generally along the aforesaid right line to and along the
south-eastern boundary of Whaiti-Kuranui 5c 2, to and
northerly along the eastern boundaries of Blocks IV and II,
Tapapa East Survey District, to the intersection of the last-
mentioned block boundary with the north-eastern boundary
of the said 5c 2; thence along a right line to the aforesaid
Trig. Station 910 and along another right line to Trig.
Station 146 (Te Weraiti) on the eastern boundary of Block
VIII, Tapapa Survey District; thence northerly along a right
line to the easternmost corner of Lot 5, D.P. 5099, in
Block XI, Aongatete Survey District; thence along the eastern
boundaries of Lots 5, 3, and Lot 1, D.P. 5156, and the
northern boundary of the last-mentioned lot, to and along
the eastern boundaries of Blocks XI, IV, VII, and III, Wairere
Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Lot 5, D.P.
25781, in the last-named block; thence again northerly
through the State forests in Block X, Aongatete Survey
District, and Block VII, Katikati Survey District, along the
eastern boundary of the original Aroha Block, as shown
on Maori Land Plan 3062, to a point in line with the northern
boundary of Block XII, Aroha Survey District; thence due east
to and northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of
Blocks VII and III and the north-western boundary of Block IV,
Katikati Survey District, to and along the south-western
boundaries of Section 1, Block XII, Katikati Survey District,
and Section 36, Block IV, Katikati Survey District, to and
along the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 34,
Block IV, aforesaid, the southern boundary of Section 26,
Block IV, aforesaid, a right line across a public road to
and along the southern and eastern boundaries of Section
27 of the said Block IV and the eastern boundary of Section
2, Block XII, Katikati Survey District, to and along the
southern boundaries of part Section 50, Block IV, Aroha
Survey District, to and north-westerly along the south-western
side of State Highway No. 2 to a point in line with the
south-eastern boundary of Lot 9, D.P. 28257; thence north-
easterly generally along a right line across the aforesaid
State Highway No. 2, to and along the aforementioned
south-eastern boundary and along a right line across the
East Coast Main Trunk Railway to and along the generally
south-eastern boundaries of Lots 2, 5, and 4, D.P. 28257,
and part Section 5, Block I, Katikati North Survey District,
to and along the southern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P.
28882, to the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked M.O.W. 18497 deposited in the office of the Minister
of Works at Wellington and thereon edged green.

Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Bay of Islands Development Lands)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions
of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land
being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 1 November 1963
and published in the Gazette, 7 November 1963, Volume
III, page 1820.
