Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for better utilisation: and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Taumarunui and is there open for inspection, and that every person affected by the taking of the land should set forth in writing any objection he may wish to make to the execution of such works or to the taking of the land, not being an objection to the amount of compensation, and send the written objection, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Tauranga County District Scheme (Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions)

Pursuant to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Tauranga County Council in the interests of the Tauranga County District Scheme, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of May 1965 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of May 1965.

Agreement to Grant a Water Easement in Favour of John Somerville Scott, of Heathcote, Farmer, Over Land in Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District, Held for Better Utilisation, Assented to

Whereas by a Proclamation dated the 15th day of May 1963, published in Gazette, 16 May 1963, No. 28, page 665, an area of land containing 15 acres and 22·7 perches, being part Lot 3, D.P. 2907, being part Rural Sections 271, 368, 3799, and 23594, situated in Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District, was taken for the Christchurch-Lyttelton Motorway (tunnel route) and an easement for the purposes thereof was taken over an area of land containing 5·2 perches, being part Lot 8, D.P. 21997, being part Rural Sections 368 and 3799, situated in Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District; and whereas John Somerville Scott, of Heathcote, farmer, is entitled to receive compensation in respect of his freehold interest in the said land; and whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to the said John Somerville Scott an easement to convey water over all that piece of land containing 14·7 perches, being part stopped Government road adjoining part Lot 4, D.P. 2907, being part Rural Section 3799, part Rural Section 104, and part Lot 4, D.P. 2907, being part Rural Section 3799, and in addition to the payment of a sum of money in full satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid; and whereas the said John Somerville Scott has agreed to accept such grant of easement and sum of money in full satisfaction of the said compensation; now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice, pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.
