Declaration Affecting Farming Businesses for Income Tax Purposes in Relation to a Drought

Pursuant to section 103A of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Minister of Finance hereby declares the drought in the under-mentioned localities during the summer 1963–1964 and, in so far as the drought extends thereto, during the autumn and winter of that last-mentioned year, to be an event, happening, or cause (within the meaning of those words as used in subsection (5) of the said section) adversely affecting farms or livestock generally in those localities.

1. The counties of Mauriceville, Masterton, Wairarapa South, and Featherston; and
2. The following parts of the Ekatahuna County namely the Puketoi Survey District and Survey blocks 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16, of the Mangaone Survey District.

Pursuant to section 103A of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Minister of Finance hereby declares the flood in the under-mentioned localities during the latter part of February 1964, and the earlier part of March in that year, to be an event, happening, or cause (within the meaning of those words as used in subsection (5) of the said section) adversely affecting farms or livestock generally in those localities:

The following parts of Clifton County and Stratford County namely:

1. Mimi Survey District: Survey Blocks 12 and 13.
2. Waro Survey District: Survey Block 13.
3. Upper Waitara Survey District: Survey Blocks 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
4. Pouata Survey District: Survey Blocks 9, 10, 13, 14, and 15.
5. Mahoe Survey District: Survey Blocks 2 and 3.

Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Bay of Islands County Council

Pursuant to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for esplanade purposes and, further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Bay of Islands, in trust, for that purpose.
