Standard Specification

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Standards Act 1941 and
the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries
and Commerce, on 19 December 1963, declared the under-
mentioned specification to be standard specification:
Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 1620:1963:
Life jackets of wholly inherent buoyancy, other than those
for commercial vessels and aircraft.
Price of Copy (Post Free): 3s.
Application for copies should be made to the N.Z. Standards
Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private
Bag, Wellington C.1 or to the Government Bookshops at

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards
Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft amend-
ment is being circulated under the reference No. D 7826.
All persons who may be affected by this amendment and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies free of charge from this New Zealand Standards Insti-
tute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag,
Wellington C.1.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 19 June 1964.

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in Eyre
County Council (Notice No. Ag. 7961)

PURSUANT to section 22 (2) of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950
and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under
section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the
purposes of the said section, the following resolution, made
by the Eyre County Council on the 16th day of March 1964,
is hereby published.

RESOLUTION
PURSUANT to the provisions of sections 22 and 23 of the
Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Eyre County Council hereby
accepts responsibility for the administration of the Noxious
Weeds Act 1950 and shall act together with the Rangiora
County Council in exercise of the powers and functions of
the Act as from 1 April 1964.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand
———
PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zea-
land Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve
Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Deputy
Governor of the Reserve Bank acting with the authority
of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as
from 8 May 1964, the balance to be maintained in
the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being
carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with
the said section 45 shall be such that when added to the
bank’s holding of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to
not less than 18 per cent of its demand liabilities in New
Zealand plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New
Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return
furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the
Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.
Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at
the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its
demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its
time liabilities in New Zealand.
For the purpose of this calculation a bank’s holding of
Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available
weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1955.
