HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

1. As from the date of this order, the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District and the Outram Secondary Urban Fire District shall cease to exist.

2. As from the date of this order the area comprising the City of Dunedin, the Boroughs of St. Kilda, Green Island, Mosgiel, and Port Chalmers, and that part of the County of Taieri described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby constituted a united urban fire district by the name of the Dunedin Metropolitan United Urban Fire District.

3. The number of members to be elected to represent the Councils of the City of Dunedin, the Boroughs of St. Kilda, Green Island, Mosgiel, and Port Chalmers, and the County of Taieri on the Board of the District hereby constituted shall be four.

4. Until the next triennial appointment and election of members of fire boards, the members of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board in office at the date of the dissolution of that Board shall be the members of the Fire Board of the District hereby constituted.

5. The amount to be paid to the Fire Board of the District hereby constituted by the Councils of the City of Dunedin and the Boroughs of St. Kilda, Green Island, Mosgiel, and Port Chalmers pursuant to section 53 of the said Act shall be in proportion to the capital values of the rateable property in their districts and the amount to be paid to that Fire Board by the Council of the County of Taieri shall be one thousand pounds per annum.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District commencing at Trig. Station Mopanui in the North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District and proceeding south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Section 52, Block I, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District and its production to the northernmost corner of Section 51, Block I aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 51 and 50, Block I aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the northernmost corner of Section 49, Block I aforesaid; thence generally north-easterly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern sides of that road to the southern boundary of Section 3, Block XI, Mount Hyde Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern side of a road intersecting that Section 3 and its production to the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block XI aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of a road forming the south-eastern boundary of that Section 2 and intersecting Sections 4 and 1, Block X, Mount Hyde Survey District, to the south-east corner of Section 2, Block X aforesaid;
