Notice of Final Decision of the New Zealand Geographic Board re Assigning of Place Name
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on the 5th day of December 1963 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the name Port Whangarei to the area described in the Schedule hereto:
And whereas, pursuant to section 13 (1) of the said Act, no objections have been received to the proposed name:
Now, therefore, pursuant to sections 14 and 15 of the said Act, notice is hereby given that on and after the 5th day of June 1964 the name Port Whangarei shall be assigned to the area described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei County, bounded by a line commencing in the middle of a bridge on the Port Whangarei road, crossing the Huhu or Limeburners Creek, in Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a right line bearing 38° 36' 30" to the middle of the low-water channel of the Whangarei River; thence down the middle of that channel to a point in line with the middle of the low-water channel of the Awaroa Stream; thence southerly along a right line to the angle in the western boundary of Section 24, Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, near the mouth of the Waimahanga Stream at low water; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the said section to the southernmost corner of that section; thence south-westerly along the production of the south-eastern boundary of the said section to a point 14 chains distance from the aforesaid southernmost point; thence south-easterly along a right line running towards a point on the shores of the Whangarei Harbour due west of the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 42421, to a point due east of the angle on the eastern side of the North Auckland railway, 2148·5 links north of the northern bank of the Otaika River, as shown on S.O. Plan 18158, sheet 2; thence due west to the said angle and northerly generally along the generally eastern side of the aforesaid railway to a point on a right line bearing 218° 36' 30" from the middle of the first-mentioned bridge and along that line to the point of commencement.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Porirua (Notice No. Ag. 7933)
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act for the purposes of the said section, the following special order, made by the Porirua Borough Council on the 15th day of January 1964, is hereby published.
SPECIAL ORDER
THE Council of the Borough of Porirua hereby resolves, by way of special order, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and all amendments thereto that:
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris)
Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis)
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus)
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum)
Burdock (Arctium, any species)
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense)
Cape tulip (Homeria collina)
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius)
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare)
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)
Goat's rue (Galega officinalis)
Gorse (Ulex, any species)
Greater bindweed (Calystegia sepium)
Heath (Erica lusitanica and Erica arborea)
Hemlock (Conium maculatum)
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum)
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma)
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea)
St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus)
Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa)
Tauhinu or New Zealand cottonwood (Cassinia leptophylla or Cassinia fulvida)
Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum)
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes)
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycnocephalus)
Woolly nightshade (Solanum auriculatum)

are hereby declared noxious weeds in the whole of the Borough of Porirua.

Tariff Notice No. 1964/15—Review of Former Tariff Concessions
DECISIONS in respect of goods approved by the Minister of Customs under item 352 of the former Tariff, as set out in Schedule I hereto, are to be reviewed.
Persons desiring, or objecting to, the admission of any of these goods under Part II of the Tariff now in force should lodge submissions in writing on or before 2 April 1964.
Submissions, headed "352 Review", should be prepared separately for each of the decisions listed, and addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, supported by information as to:
(a) Details and specifications of the goods;
(b) Quantity and frequency of importation;
(c) The quality, range, supply, etc., of similar goods produced in New Zealand.
Decisions in respect of goods approved by the Minister of Customs under item 352 of the former Tariff, as set out in Schedule II hereto, are revoked with effect from 2 April 1964.
The rates of duty for these goods under Part I of the Tariff now in force are the same or lower than the rates under item 352 of the former Tariff.
