Change of Purpose of Reserves

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto from reserves for plantation purposes to reserves for access ways.

This notice is issued in substitution for the notice dated 22 January 1963 and published in Gazette, 24 January 1963, Volume I, page 79, and that notice is hereby revoked.

Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Murupara Borough Council

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for recreation purposes and, further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Murupara, in trust, for that purpose.

Kaitaia Drainage Area: Penalty on Overdue Rates

PURSUANT to section 76 of the Rating Act 1925 and the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the rate-payers within the Kaitaia Drainage Area are hereby notified that 10 per cent additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31 March 1964, unpaid on 15 March 1964.

Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2206, Auckland C.I. or at the office of the Lands and Survey Department, Melba Street, Kaitaia.

Fixing Date on Which Certain Returns Under the Fire Services Act 1949 are to be Furnished

PURSUANT to section 52 of the Fire Services Act 1949, it is hereby notified that the returns required by that section (as amended by the Fire Services Amendment Acts 1953 and 1956), showing the amount of premiums received by or due to fire insurance companies during the year ended 31 December 1963, shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Council in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 29th day of February 1964.

Authorising McCallum Brothers Ltd. to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Bed of the Sea from Pakihi Island to Karamuramu Island in the Hauraki Gulf as a Site for a Submarine Telephone Cable

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits McCallum Brothers Ltd. (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea from Pakihi Island to Karamuramu Island in the Hauraki Gulf, as shown on plan marked M.D. 1689 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon a submarine telephone cable as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.
2. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of December 1963.
3. The premium payable by the licensee shall be £5 and the annual sum so payable £10.

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Birkenhead Borough Council (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Birkdale, Auckland, as shown on plans marked M.D. 11564, M.D. 11642, and M.D. 11661, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining thereon two emergency overflows and a sewer-reticulation scheme, as shown on the said plans, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
