Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* dated the 11th day of February 1963,† which relates to East Tamaki Road and Prestons Road at Otara in Manukau County is hereby revoked.
  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Manukau County at Otara:
East Tamaki Road (from Hills Road to Prestons Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Manukau County at Otara and adjacent to Papatoetoe Borough:
East Tamaki Road (from Prestons Road to Springs Road).
Prestons Road (from the eastern boundary of Papatoetoe Borough to East Tamaki Road).

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work (Ngaiere Ballast Pit Siding) and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 23rd day of December 1963.
