Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed
Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 1st day of September 1937* which relates to Stratford Borough is hereby revoked.
  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.†

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Stratford Borough:

No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) (from the northern boundary of Stratford Borough to Pembroke Road; and from the southern boundary of Stratford Borough to Romeo Street).
No. 43 State Highway (Stratford-Ohura) (from the eastern boundary of Stratford Borough to Swansea Road).
Opunake Road (from the western boundary of Stratford Borough to Brecon Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Stratford Borough:

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said Regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

Additional Land at Ngaruawahia Taken for the Purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway and for Street Diversion in Connection Therewith

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby taken for street diversion in connection therewith.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 19170 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 16th day of December 1963.
