The Standards Act 1941—Draft Amendment to New Zealand Standard Model Building Bylaw (N.Z.S.S. 95) Part XI:1962, Steel Construction

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft amendment is being circulated under the reference No. D 7667.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C. 1.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 2 January 1964.

Boundaries of the Paparua and Selwyn Brand Registration Districts Altered and Redefined (Notice No. Ag. 7897)

Pursuant to section 4 of the Stock Amendment Act 1956 and to a delegation from the Director-General of Agriculture under section 10 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, the boundaries of the Paparua and the Selwyn Brand Registration Districts are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the date hereof, the boundaries of the said districts shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE PAPARUA BRAND REGISTRATION DISTRICT

ALL that area comprising the Counties of Paparua, Halswell, Waimari, Heathcote, and the Springston and Greenpark Ridings of the Ellesmere County and including the City of Christchurch and all boroughs and town districts comprised in or adjoining such area.


BOUNDARIES OF THE SELWYN BRAND REGISTRATION DISTRICT

ALL that area comprising the Counties of Tawera and Malvern and the Rakaia, Southbridge, Southbridge Town, Leeston, Leeston Town, and Irwell Ridings of the Ellesmere County and including all boroughs and town districts comprised in or adjoining such area.

Plant Declared Noxious Weed in the County of Opotiki (Notice No. Ag. 7899)

Pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, the following special order, made by the Opotiki County Council on the 14th day of October 1963, is hereby published.


SPECIAL ORDER

That the Opotiki County Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the following plant, being a plant mentioned in the First Schedule to the said Act, is a noxious weed within the County of Opotiki:

Gorse (Ulex, any species)

Notice of Intention to Assign a Place Name by the New Zealand Geographic Board

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the name Port Whangarei to the area described in the Schedule hereto.

Pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, any person objecting to such proposed name may, at any time within the period of three months from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette, give to the Secretary of the Board, care of the Department of Lands and Survey, P.O. Box 8003, Government Buildings, Wellington, notice in writing of his objection, setting out the grounds of the objection.

If no objection is received by the Board within the aforesaid period of three months, the Board’s decision as to the proposed name will be final.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei County, bounded by a line commencing in the middle of a bridge on the Port Whangarei road crossing the Huhu or Limeburners Creek, in Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a right line bearing 38° 36′ 30″ to the middle of the low-water channel of the Whangarei River; thence down the middle of that channel to a point in line with the middle of the low-water channel of the Awaroa Stream; thence southerly along a right line to the angle in the western boundary of Section 24, Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, near the mouth of the Waimahanga Stream at low water; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the said section to the southernmost corner of that section; thence south-westerly along the production of the south-eastern boundary of the said section to a point 11 chains distance from the aforesaid southernmost point; thence south-easterly along a right line running towards a point on the shores of the Whangarei Harbour due west of the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 42421, to a point due east of the angle on the eastern side of the North Auckland railway, 2148·5 links north of the northern bank of the Otaika River, as shown on S.O. Plan 18158, sheet 2; thence due west to the said angle and northerly generally along the generally eastern side of the aforesaid railway to a point on a right line bearing 218° 36′ 30″ from the middle of the first-mentioned bridge and along that line to the point of commencement.
