Classification of Roads in Inglewood County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes so much of the Warrants dated the 28th day of June 1950† and the 27th day of September 1950‡ as relates to the roads described in the Schedule hereto and the Warrant dated the 1st day of July 1955§ which relates to Tariki Road, formerly known as the Tariki Main Highway No. 921, and hereby approves the Inglewood County Council’s proposed classification of the said roads as set out in the said Schedule.

Roads Classified in Class Two

EVERET, Kaimata, Tariki, Otaraoa, Junction, Egmont, Wortley, Richmond, Lincoln, York, Davis, Roddy, Clarke, Bristol (from Junction Road to Kaimata Road), Upland (from the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) to the Taranaki County boundary).

Approval of Dual Headlight Systems

PURSUANT to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the use of the dual headlight system described in the Schedule hereto as a compliance with regulation 35 (1) of the said regulations relating to the fitting of headlamps.

SCHEDULE

GUIDE dual sealed-beam apparatus consisting of two units, each unit incorporating two headlamps embossed with the symbols “1” and “2x” respectively, and having a lens diameter of 5¼ in. When in use all four headlamps shall be illuminated to provide the main beams, and the two headlamps embossed with the symbols “2x” shall be illuminated to provide the dipped beams.

Bylaw Regulating Traffic on the West Taieri Bridge on the Mosgiel-Kyeburn State Highway No. 87

PURSUANT to the National Roads Act 1953 and the Transport Act 1962 and all powers and authorities in any wise enabling it in that behalf, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw.

B Y L A W

  1. This bylaw may be cited as the National Roads Board Bylaw 1963 No. 2.
  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Gazette.
  3. In this bylaw “vehicle” has the meaning assigned to it in the Transport Act 1962.
  4. The driver of a vehicle which is following another vehicle upon or over the West Taieri Bridge (being the bridge described in the Schedule hereto) shall keep a distance of not less than 200 ft from that vehicle while it is on the said bridge.
  5. Every person who commits an offence against this bylaw is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds (£20).

SCHEDULE

THE West Taieri Bridge on the Mosgiel-Taieri State Highway No. 87 spanning the Taieri River near Outram approximately 7·7 miles from Mosgiel.

This bylaw was made by resolution duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board held in Wellington on the 11th day of November 1963.
