PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft of the New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C. 1.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 15 November 1963.

As shown on plan No. 108/102 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Tariff Notice No. 1963/67—Application for Withdrawal of Approval

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 4 (2) (b) of the Customs Acts Amendment Act 1961, that application has been made for the withdrawal of a decision of the Minister of Customs admitting, at concessionary rates of duty, the goods as described hereunder:

The application states that goods of a like kind are economically manufactured in the Commonwealth and that the margin of preference existing in the rates of duty under the substantive Tariff item should be reintroduced.

The substantive rates of duty are:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 31 October 1963. Submissions, which should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item, and description of the goods concerned, must be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and should be supported by information as to:

(a) The quality, range, supply, etc., of the above-described goods produced in New Zealand; and

(b) The landed cost and selling price, including c.d.v., and cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance, freight, exchange, other landing charges, duty, etc., of equivalent goods of overseas origin.
