Tariff Notice—Review of Former Tariff Concessions
- Notice is hereby given that it is proposed that the published decisions set out in the First Schedule to this Tariff Notice approving the admission of the goods or classes of goods under item 352 of the former Tariff be reviewed.
(Section 4 (2) of the Customs Acts Amendment Act 1961 provided for the continuation of the former rates of duty on these goods until 30 June 1964, and also provided that any such approval may be revoked by notice in the Gazette. Upon revocation of an approval the goods will thereafter be subject to the rates of duty provided in the Standard Tariff.)
Persons who desire to have the goods listed in the First Schedule hereto approved for further concessionary entry under the provisions of the Tariff now in force should apply in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Wellington, on or before 26 September 1963.
Full details must be supplied showing specifications of the machine in respect of which the application is made, and the frequency of importations under the concession.
To facilitate consideration, representations in support of or objecting to the continuation of any concession should be clearly marked “352 review” and must quote the relevant decision in full. Representations should relate to one decision only.
- Notice is also given that the published decisions approving the admission of the goods or classes of goods set out in the Second Schedule hereto under item 352 of the former Tariff are hereby revoked with effect from 26 September 1963.
(In the Standard Tariff now in force the goods included in the Second Schedule are subject to the same or lower rates of duty than those which applied under the Tariff Item 352 concession.)
