Scheme of Control of Darfield High School
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of the Darfield High School being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools 1961, published in the Gazette of 8 June 1961, Volume II, page 820:
Provided that:
(a) Clause 10 of the said Standard Scheme shall be read as if the following proviso were added thereto:
“Provided that the first such election of members to the Board shall be held as soon as practicable but not later than the first week of the month of May 1964.”
(b) Clause 18 of the said Standard Scheme shall be read as if the following proviso were added thereto:
“Provided that every member appointed or elected for the first term of office of the Board shall hold office until the 31st day of May 1967, whether or not that year is the third year after the year of his appointment or election.”

Indication of Pedestrian Crossings
PURSUANT to regulations 99 (3) of the Traffic Regulations 1956, the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the following device as an additional indication of the presence and position of a pedestrian crossing when under the control of a school patrol appointed under regulation 112 of the Traffic Regulations 1956.
A truncated cone having a minimum height of 1 ft 6 in, a minimum diameter at the base of 1ft and a diameter at the top of between 1 and 6 in. with its surface divided into 16 equal parts, as indicated in the diagram below, and coloured alternately red and white.

Approval of Red Reflectors for Bicycles in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1956
PURSUANT to regulation 78 (3) of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves for the purposes of the said regulations the red reflector of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

RED reflector having 1½ in. diameter lens embossed “BiA 115”.

Land in the Otago Land District Acquired as Permanent State Forest Land
NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as permanent State forest land.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
SECTIONS 31 and 33, Block II, Maungatua Survey District, Taieri County: Area, 226 acres and 3 perches, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 267, folio 170. As shown on plan No. 206/5 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. Plan 1073.)

Unclaimed Property—Notice of Election by the Public Trustee to Become Manager Under Public Trust Office Act 1957, Part V
WHEREAS, after due inquiry, it is not known who the owner of the property described in the Schedule hereto is or where he is or whether he is alive or dead; and whereas the gross value of the said property (as estimated by the Public Trustee) does not exceed £2,000, and for the purposes of subsection (2) of section 80 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957, the Public Trustee is satisfied that it is advisable that he should become the manager of the said property: Now, therefore, the Public Trustee, in exercise of the authority conferred upon him by the said subsection (2), hereby elects to be manager of the said property under Part V of the said Act.
