Approval of Dual Headlight Systems

PURSUANT to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the use of the dual headlight system described in the Schedule hereto as a compliance with regulation 35 (1) of the said regulations relating to the fitting of headlamps.

SCHEDULE

C.A.V. dual sealed-beam apparatus consisting of two units, each unit incorporating two headlamps embossed with the symbols “1A” and “2A” respectively, and having a lens diameter of 534 in. When in use all four headlamps shall be illuminated to provide the main beams, and the two headlamps embossed with the symbols “2A” shall be illuminated to provide the dipped beams.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 10—Review of Import Duties on Cylinder Mortice Locks and Locksets

  1. Notice is hereby given that the Tariff and Development Board is at present considering an application for a reduction in the rates of import duty on cylinder mortice locks and locksets.

Cylinder mortice locks and locksets are at present included in Tariff item 698.111.1, in respect of which the present rates of duty are:

British Preferential: 27½ per cent.
Most Favoured Nation: 60 per cent.
General: 65 per cent.

  1. Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing by forwarding 10 copies of a typewritten statement of objection to the undersigned so as to reach him not later than 4 July 1963.

  2. The statement should give full particulars of the reasons for the objection, including the description, range, uses, and prices of any New Zealand made locks and locksets which it is considered would be affected by any reduction in the present rates of duty.
