Price Order No. 1909 (Wire Products Manufactured by G.K.N. (New Zealand) Ltd.)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following price order:
PRELIMINARY
- This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1909 and shall come into force on the 31st day of May 1963.
- In this order—
The expression “c and f” means “cost and freight”.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This order applies with respect to the wire products manufactured by G.K.N. (New Zealand) Ltd. of the several kinds specified in the First Schedule hereto.
FIXING MAXIMUM PRICES OF WIRE PRODUCTS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
Manufacturer’s Prices
- (1) Subject to the following provisions of this clause the maximum factory selling price that may be charged or received by G.K.N. (New Zealand) Ltd. for any wire products to which this order applies shall be the appropriate price fixed in the First Schedule hereto: Provided that any such price may be increased where applicable by the appropriate extra charges referred to in the Second Schedule hereto.
(2) The maximum prices as aforesaid are fixed for deliveries as follows:
(a) Ex works Otahuhu; or
(b) “C and F” at any of the ports of Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, Napier, Timaru, Bluff, Tauranga, Gisborne, Nelson, and Oamaru.

Price Order No. 1907 (Raw Tobacco Leaf)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following price order:
- This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1907 and shall come into force on the 31st day of May 1963.
- In this order—
“Flue-cured leaf” means leaf that has been treated in the kiln for at least three successive days immediately after picking for the purpose of yellowing, fixing colour, drying, and drying mid-ribs:
“Air-dried leaf” means leaf other than flue-cured leaf:
“Raw tobacco” means unmanufactured tobacco and includes the leaves and stems of the tobacco plant before they have passed through any process of manufacture other than curing:
“Sale” includes a contract for sale, agreement to sell, and offer for sale; “purchase” includes a contract for purchase, agreement to purchase, and offer to purchase; and “sale” and “purchase” include barter and exchange.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This order applies with respect to all raw tobacco leaf grown in New Zealand during the 1962–63 season: Provided that the Tribunal may, in any case where it considers it proper to do so and subject to such conditions (if any) as it thinks fit, exempt any such tobacco from the operation of this order.
FIXING AVERAGE PRICES OF RAW TOBACCO LEAF TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
- (1) The average price to be paid by any tobacco manufacturer for raw tobacco leaf to which this order applies shall be not less than—
(a) For flue-cured leaf: 4s. 5d. per pound.
(b) For air-dried leaf: 4s. 0½d. per pound.
(2) For the purpose of this clause the weight of any raw tobacco leaf shall be deemed to be its weight at the time and place of delivery by the grower to the manufacturer or to his agent in the district in which it is grown: Provided that in any case where the grower and the manufacturer or his agent agree that the moisture content of the leaf in any lot
