Revoking Notice Declaring Area Exempted from Portions
of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby revokes the notice of 10 January 1962* declaring that regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958 shall not apply to a described area of Lake Rotoiti.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Bowen State Building, Bowen Street, or Private Bag, Wellington C.1.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 20 March 1963.

Ashburton Gorge Rabbit District Divided into Wards
(Notice No. Ag. 7638)

PURSUANT to section 14A of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Ashburton Gorge Rabbit Board hereby declares the Ashburton Gorge Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 9th day of February 1949,* to be divided into wards having the names and boundaries specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF EAST WARD

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton County, bounded by a line commencing at Mt. Taylor, Block X, Somers Survey District; the said point being on the boundary of the Ashburton Gorge Rabbit District as described in Gazette, 1961, page 1921, and proceeding north-easterly, south-easterly, and south-westerly along that boundary to the middle of the Rangitata River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of the east branch of Pudding Valley Creek, Block XIV, Tripp Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along the middle of that creek and the south-eastern boundaries of Education Reserve 1357 and Rural Section 34118 to the northernmost corner of Run 106; thence south-easterly generally along the general north-eastern boundary of that run to the western boundary of Rural Section 29144; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of that section and the southern boundary of Rural Section 29144; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of that section and the southern boundary of Rural Section 31958 to its south-eastern corner; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of Rural Section 31958 to the eastern boundary of Rural Section 36421; thence northerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Ashburton River (south branch); thence easterly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the middle of Stour River; thence north-easterly generally up the middle of that river, to and up the middle of a stream forming the south-eastern boundary of Run 115B and 115A, and along the general eastern boundary of Run 115A to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF WEST WARD

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashburton County, bounded by a line commencing at Whitcombe Pass on the Main Divide and proceeding southerly to and along the middle of Louper to the middle of the Rakaia River; thence easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Run 117 (Upper Lake Heron); thence southerly generally to and along that boundary to the middle of the Cameron River; thence south-easterly along the middle of that river to the shore of Lake Heron; thence south-easterly generally along the northern and eastern shores of that lake to the south-western boundary of Run 117 aforesaid; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the southernmost corner of the said run; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 118A to the summit of Taylor Range; thence southerly along that range to Mt. Aylor, being a point on the boundary of the East Ward hereinbefore described; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to the middle of the Rangitata River; thence north-westerly up the middle of that river and the Havelock River to a point in line with the middle of the Forbes River; thence south-westerly generally up the middle of that river to its source on the Two Thumb Range; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the summit of that range to McClure Peak on the Main Divide; thence north-easterly along the summit of the Main Divide to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to section 25A of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Ashburton Gorge Rabbit Board hereby declares that the number of members to be elected for each ward of the Ashburton Gorge Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 9th day of February 1949,* shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of the ward.
