Change of Name of Maungatautari Domain

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the public domain described in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Maungatautari Domain, shall hereafter be known as the Horahora Domain.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Southland County Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Southland and revokes the reservation for gravel purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Amending Notice to the Open Season for Game in Certain Acclimatisation Districts

THE Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice that the notice published in the Gazette, No. 19, of 28 March 1963, at page 415, relating to the open season for game in certain acclimatisation districts, is amended as follows:

  1. In that portion of the First Schedule which relates to the Otago Acclimatisation District—

(a) By deleting the following closed game area:

(7) A pond on Mr G. Eaton’s property, Miller’s Flat, being on Section XV, Block XII, Benger Survey District, Tuapeka County,

(b) And by adding the following closed game area:

(20) Pond on the property of Mr C. J. Holland, Ashley Downs, Clinton, being on Section 2, Block VII, Pomahaka Survey District.

  1. In that portion of the First Schedule which relates to the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District, by amending the following closed game area

from

(2) The Haast River watershed, including the Landsborough and Clark Valleys.

to

(2) All that area in the Westland Land District, County of Westland, being portion of the watershed of the Haast River and its tributaries, bounded by a line commencing at Mt. Isabel (a peak on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps), situated in Block II, Mt. Napoleon Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly generally along the said Main Divide to Mt. Citheron, situated in Block X, Governors Pass Survey District; thence north-westerly generally via Mueller Pass, Medeon, Mt. Action, Mt. Victor, the Prop, Rotten Ridge, and Zig Zag Spur, to Mt. Webster (at the eastern extremity of the Mark Range), situated in Block I, Governors Pass Survey District, again north-westerly generally along the said Mark Range via Rough Ridge (Trig. Station PR) to Mt. Mark (Trig. Station PQ), situated in Block XVI, Okuru Survey District; thence northerly along the unnamed spur between Grassy Creek and the north branch of Nerger Creek and the line of the watershed between the Haast and Okuru Rivers to the eastern side of the Haast-Jacksons Bay road; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the eastern side of the said road to its junction with No. 6 State Highway, situated in Block VII, Okuru Survey District; thence easterly generally along the southern side of the said State highway to a point due west of Trig. Station R.M., Clarke Bluff, situated in Block II, Haast Pass Survey District; thence due east to that trig. station; thence north-easterly along a right line across the Haast River to Trig. Station RK, Woodhen Flat, situated in Block XIV, Clarke Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Mt. Macfarlane, again north-westerly along a right line to Mt. Zieland, situated in Block XII, Mataketake Survey District; thence north-easterly along right lines via Law Peak and Mt. Stephenson to Rainy Top; thence easterly generally via Ranginui, Plover Crag, and Monro Peak to Eureka situated on the northern boundary of the Clarke Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along the said survey district boundary and the boundaries of the Landsborough and Mt. Napoleon Survey District to the point of commencement.

Declaring the Borough of Carterton to be an Inspected Meat Area (Notice No. Ag. 7746)

PURSUANT to section 7A of the Meat Act 1939, as added by section 2 (2) of the Meat Amendment Act 1962, the Minister of Agriculture hereby declares the Borough of Carterton, as constituted from time to time, to be an inspected meat area.

Claim for Registration of School Colours and Badge

PURSUANT to the Education Act 1914 and regulations thereunder, notice is hereby given that a claim has been made for the registration of the following colours and badge for Wellington Girls’ College, Wellington.

Colours—
Black, gold, and teal blue.

Uniform—
Hat: Teal gaberdine, flat top, small brim. Diagonally striped black and gold band ¹⁵⁄₁₆ in. wide.
Tie: Black and gold diagonal stripes.
Outer Clothing: Teal blue.

School Crest—
WELLINGTON GIRLS’ COLLEGE and LUMEN ACCIPE ET IMPERTI in gold lettering between two gold circles. Lamp in centre. All on black background.

If within 40 days of the publication of this notice no objection to this claim is received by me, the claim will be registered in accordance with the provisions of the above Act and regulations.

As shown on plan No. 188/17 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
