Exempting Land in the Taranaki Land District from the
Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the
Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted
from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.
SCHEDULE
ALL that parcel of land containing 32'9 perches, more or less,
being Lot 2 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office
at New Plymouth under number 9071, situated in Block X,
Mapara Survey District, and being part of the land in certificate
of title, Volume 106, folio 191 (New Plymouth Land
Registry), subject to building-line restriction imposed by K.
No. 126511.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General this 31st day of March 1963.

pleased to approve the following appointments, promotions,

Extension of Commission
Flying Officer Michael Palairet (79478) is granted an
extension of his commission until 3 July 1970.
Resignation
Flight Lieutenant Mervyn Neil Rogers (76952) resigns his
commission, with effect from 23 January 1963.

Promotion
Engineer Division
Squadron Leader (temp.) Stuart Smart (70497) to be
Squadron Leader, with effect from 14 February 1963.
Transfer to Retired List
Wing Commander Jack Hardy, O.B.E., A.F.R.Ae.S. (70202), is
transferred to the Retired List "A", with effect from 23 April
1963.

Flying Officer Donald James Matheson (79184) to be
temporary Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 11 February
1963.

Flight Lieutenant William Henry James, B.E.M. (70487), is
transferred to the Retired List "A", with effect from 10 May
1963.
CHAPLAINS BRANCH
Appointment
The Rev. Charles Harold Pascal Cooper (80715) is
granted a short-service commission in the Chaplains Branch,
Regular Air Force, for a period ending 18 March 1966, to
be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.
He is appointed in the relative rank of Flight Lieutenant,
with seniority and effect from 19 March 1963.
AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointment
Peter Gordon Finch is granted a commission in the Air
Training Corps in the rank of Pilot Officer, with seniority
and effect from 21 February 1963.
Promotion
Pilot Officer Noel Laurensen to be Flying Officer, with
effect from 7 March 1963.
Transfer to Retired List
Flight Lieutenant Herbert Thomas Brailey is transferred
to the Retired List "B" with effect from 1 March 1963.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been

hold the said office commencing on the 10th day of March
1963 and ending with the 10th day of March 1965.
