Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* dated the 28th day of November 1957†, which relates to Waikanae in Horowhenua County is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 16 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Te Moana Road to a point 48 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from the said road).

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being testing officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  2. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SITUATED within Waitemata County adjacent to Takapuna City—

Forrest Hill Road (from the western boundary of Takapuna City to a point 8 chains measured southerly generally along the said road from Havelock Avenue).

Exclusion from Speed Limitation Revoked, Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation, and Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 6th day of January 1956,* which relates to Taupo Borough is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.
