Appointments, Promotion, Extensions of Commissions, Transfers, and Retirement of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

Pursuant to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments, promotion, extensions of commissions, transfers, and retirement of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

WOMEN’S ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORCE
REGULAR SECTION
Extension of Commission

Section Officer Alethea Mary Nevill (78243) is granted an extension of her commission until 24 January 1964.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE
ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH
Extension of Commission

Special Duties Division

Flight Lieutenant John Keys (134191) is granted an extension of his commission until 24 October 1967.

Transfer

Flying Officer Stanley Russell Quennell (130797) is transferred from the General Duties Branch, Reserve of Air Force Officers, to the Administrative and Supply Branch (Special Duties Division), Territorial Air Force, for a period ending 11 November 1967, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with effect from 12 November 1962.

AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointment

Hugh Patrick Joseph Blake, M.A., is granted a commission in the Air Training Corps in the rank of Flight Lieutenant with seniority from 1 April 1962, with effect from 1 November 1962.

Promotion

Pilot Officer John Ansley Burton, B.A., to be Flying Officer, with effect from 2 November 1962.

Transfer to Retired List

Squadron Leader Alan Frederick Jacobsen, A.F.C., is transferred to the Retired List “A”, with effect from 24 September 1962.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS
Appointment

Flying Officer Cyril Whitaker (75132) to be temporary Flight Lieutenant while attached to the Air Training Corps, with effect from 8 October 1962.

Extensions of Commissions

The under-mentioned officers are granted extensions of their commissions until the date shown:

Squadron Leader Harold Ray Gibson, E.D., M.D., M.B., CH.B., U.N.Z. (131404), is transferred to the Retired List “B”, with effect from 31 December 1962.

Retirement

Flight Lieutenant George Frederick Briggs, O.B.E. (133461), is retired, with effect from 24 November 1962.
