Boundsries of Borough of Rotorua, County of Rotorua, and Central Riding of County of Rotorua Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Rotorua, the County of Rotorua, and the Central Riding of the County of Rotorua, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the 29th day of June 1960 and published in Gazette, 30 June 1960, No. 40, page 848.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF ROTORUA

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District containing 6,551 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the western shore of Lake Rotorua and being the easternmost corner of Kawaha 3G in Block XIII, Rotoiti Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly generally along the said shore to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Tahererauti 2 (Ohinemutu Pa); thence along a right line being that last-mentioned boundary produced for a distance of 71°44 links bearing 46° 01' 40"; thence south-easterly along a right line for a distance of 2599·54 links bearing 115° 49' 30", and southerly along another right line for a distance of 215 links bearing 180° 01' 42" to the original lake shore at the boundary of the Municipal Reserve in Block I, Tarawera Survey District; thence again south-easterly and southerly generally along the shores of the said lake, to and southerly along the left bank of the Puarenga Stream, to and westerly along the southern side of State Highway No. 30, to and up the middle of the Awaawa-roa (Alum) Stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Section 26A, Suburbs of Rotorua, shown on D.P. 25689 in the aforesaid Block I; thence along a right line, to and along the south-western and southern boundaries of the said part Section 26A, crossing the intervening Cemetery Road and along the southern boundary of another part Section 26A aforesaid to and along the north-western boundary of part Section 5, the north-western and southern boundaries of Section 14, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 15 and 17, the aforesaid sections being of the said Block I and the said sections 14, 15, and 17 shown on S.O. 28648, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and along the northern boundary of part Section 5A, Block I aforesaid, to and south-westerly generally along the left bank of the Puarenga Stream to the southernmost corner of Nelson Street; thence along a right line across Puarenga Stream to and along the generally south-western boundary of Section 6, Block I aforesaid, to and south-westerly generally along the north-western boundary of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 4A (State forest: Gazette, 1906, page 2506) to and northerly generally along the left bank of the said Puarenga Stream to a point due west of the northernmost corner of Whakarewarewa 2B; thence due west across part Lot 3, D.P. 23567, Section 43, Block I aforesaid, and State Highway No. 5 to its western side; thence northerly along the western sides of that highway and the Old Taupo Road to and westerly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 23567 (part Rotorua Domain: Gazette, 1947, page 1920) to and along the southern boundaries of part Section 63, Suburbs of Rotorua, shown on D.P. 24263, Lots 21 and 22, D.P. S. 6441, to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of part Lot 1, D.P. 26991, Lots 7 and 8, D.P. S. 782, and Lot 3, D.P. S. 2312, to and westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Tihiotonga part C 2B, C 2A, and part A to Trig. Station 33 (Ngatautara) in Block IV, Horohoro Survey District; thence northerly generally along the south-eastern boundary of the said part Tihiotonga A, to and along the right bank of the Utuhina Stream, to and north-westerly generally along the middle of the Pukehangi Road, to and north-easterly generally along the middle of Paradise Valley Road (Clayton Road) and Ngongataha Mountain Road, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rotokahoka D North 4; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary and the south-eastern boundary of the said D North 4, to and northerly along the western side of State Highway No. 5 to a point in line with the southern boundary of Kawaha 3L 1; thence along a right line across that highway, to and along that southern boundary and its production to and southerly along the middle of the Auckland-Rotorua Railway to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Kawaha 3H 2; thence north-easterly generally along a right line crossing the eastern part of that railway and Parawai Road, to and along the generally south-eastern boundary of Kawaha 3H 2 and along the south-eastern boundary of Kawaha 3G to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF ROTORUA

All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of a right line between Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua), being the easternmost corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District, and the westernmost corner of Section 9, Block V, Horohoro Survey District, with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block II, Rotorua Survey District, and proceeding easterly generally along the generally southern boundary of Section 3 aforesaid, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Taumata 3A 2B and that boundary produced to and down the middle of the Ohaupara Stream, to and down the middle

of the Mangorewa River to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Section 1, Block XIV, Maketu Survey District, comprised in certificate of title, Volume 267, folio 294, and that boundary produced to and up the middle of the Kaituna River to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Taheke 3D situated in Block XIV aforesaid; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary and that southern boundary produced to and southerly along State Highway No. 33 to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Taheke 3A; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary and that boundary produced to and up the middle of the Pokopoko Stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. S. 4732; thence along a right line to and along that south-western boundary and the southern boundaries of part Section 1, Section 4, along a right line across the Maniatutu Road to and along the south-western boundaries of Section 3, the aforesaid sections being of Block IV, Rotoiti Survey District, the south-western boundaries of Kaikokopu 2B 2, crossing the intervening Kaikokopu Road, and Section 5, Block IV aforesaid, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and down the middle of the Pongakawa Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I, Rotoma Survey District; thence along a right line to and along that southern boundary and that southern boundary produced to and south-easterly generally along the middle of the Pongakawa-Rotoehu road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 18, Block VI, Rotoma Survey District; thence along a right line to and along that northern boundary and the southern boundary of Section 10, Block VI aforesaid, Section 2, Block VII, Rotoma Survey District, and that boundary produced across the Rotoma-Matata road to and along the south-eastern side of that road and the generally south-western and southern boundaries of Section 25, Block VII aforesaid, to the intersection of that southern boundary with a right line between the south-eastern corner of Section 6, Block VI, Waihi South Survey District, and the north-western corner of part Section 15, Block XI, Rotoma Survey District; thence southerly generally along that right line to and along the western boundaries of the aforesaid part Section 15, part of Allotment 63, Parish of Matata, to the southernmost corner of the said part Allotment; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 18 (Maungawhakamana) situated in Block III, Ruawahia Survey District; thence southerly along another right line between the said Trig. Station 18 and Trig. Station 38 (Ahiwhakamura) situated in Block X, Kaingaroa Survey District, and that right line produced to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 76A (Tawhiwhau) situated in Block XIV, Galatea Survey District, and Trig. Station 31 (Paeroa) situated in Block V, Paeroa Survey District; thence westerly generally along that right line to its intersection with the western boundary of part Section 62S, Reporoa Settlement, situated in Block XI, Paeroa Survey District (State forest: Gazette, 1922, page 2717); thence southerly generally along that western boundary and the generally western boundaries of Section 67S, Reporoa Settlement (State forest: Gazette, 1926, page 130), parts Paeroa East 4A and 3A (State forest: Gazette, 1944, page 120), part Kaingaroa 2 (State forest: Gazette, 1927, page 2692), and another part Kaingaroa 2 (State forest: Gazette, 1930, page 2639) to the easternmost corner of Lot 27, D.P. 22785, in Block II, Otukotara Survey District; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Lot 27 and Lot 25, D.P. 22785, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and down the middle of the Paetaramoa Stream to and down the middle of the Waikato River, to and northerly generally up the middle of Whangapoa Stream and the stream forming part of the eastern boundary of Section 12, Block III Te Atiamuri Survey District, to and westerly along the southern side of State Highway No. 30 to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. S. 1533; thence along a right line across that highway to and along that last-mentioned boundary and along the eastern boundaries of Lot 6, D.P. S. 1533, and Lot 1, D.P. 25102, along the southern and eastern boundaries of part Tokoroa 2 shown on D.P. 25485, to and along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of part Lot 1, D.P. 20031, and along the north-eastern boundary of another part Lot 1, D.P. 20031, and that last-mentioned boundary produced to and along the south-western boundary of Section 9, Block V, Horohoro Survey District, to the westernmost corner of that section, thence north-easterly along a right line between that westernmost corner and Trig. Station 27 aforesaid to the point of commencement excluding therefrom the Rotorua Borough as hereinbefore described.

BOUNDARIES OF CENTRAL RIDING

All that area in the South Auckland Land District in the Rotorua County bounded by a line commencing at a point on the western shore of Lake Rotorua in Block XVI, Rotorua Survey District, being the northernmost corner of part Waikuta 1B 2 and proceeding north-easterly along a right line being the north-western boundary of the said 1B 2 produced to its junction with a right line joining the middle of the mouth of the Waiteti Stream with the westernmost corner of Whakapoungakau 16 No. 2B 2F in Block XIV, Rotoiti Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along that right line to and along the south-western boundary of 16 No. 2B 2F aforesaid, along a right line across State Highway No. 30, to and along the south-western boundary of Whakapoungakau 16 No. 2B 2G 1 and southerly generally along the western boundaries of part Okataina 6B to the northernmost corner of part Section 6, Block II, Tarawera
