Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Roads Excluded from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed Zone Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 23rd day of November 1938,* and the Warrants under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 27th day of June 1956†, the 24th day of July 1959‡, the 29th day of July 1959§, the 5th day of July 1962||, which relate to Porirua, Titahi Bay, Porirua East, and Elsdon, formerly in Makara County but now in Porirua Borough, are hereby revoked.
  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.
  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956¶.
    FIRST SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Porirua Borough—
    No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the northern boundary of Porirua Borough to Hephan Place; and from the southern boundary of Porirua Borough to a point 6 chains measured northerly generally along the said State Highway from Arawhata Street).
    Porirua-Titahi Bay Road (from Lyttelton Avenue to Kahu-toa Terrace).
    SECOND SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Porirua Borough—
    No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 6 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Arawhata Street to a point 14 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from the said street).
