CLUTHA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Clutha County Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £30,000 authorised to be raised by the Clutha County Council under the above-named Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the Clutha County Council hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and twenty-nine thousandths of a penny in the pound (0·129d. in £) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Clutha; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Clutha County Council held on 27 March 1962.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

Reclamation Loan 1962, £10,000

PURSUANT to section 13 (2) of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the Whakatane Harbour District, taken on the 13th day of October 1962, on the proposal of the Whakatane Harbour Board to raise a loan of £10,000 (ten thousand pounds), to be known as the Reclamation Loan, for the purpose of undertaking subdivision works in Boon Street, sealing the Strand Service Lane, and constructing a seawall in the Whakatane River, resulted as follows:

The number of votes for the proposal was 1,110

The number of votes against the proposal was 534

The number of informal votes was 32

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hauraki Catchment Board, being duly authorised under section 131 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for a stopbank; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the Thames Borough Council Chambers, Pollen Street, Thames, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of this public work or by the taking of such lands who may have any well-grounded objection to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands must set forth their objections in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary, Hauraki Catchment Board, Whitaker Street, Te Aroha.

The lands described hereunder are shown on Survey Office Plan 38092 and are adjacent to the Kauaeranga River, Thames.

All situated in Block VII, Thames Survey District, Land Registration District of Auckland.

In Special Rating Area Forming Part of Upper Hutt Subdivision of the Hutt River District

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of ratepayers of the special rating area forming part of Upper Hutt Subdivision of the Hutt River District taken on Saturday, 13 October 1962, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of £120,000 to be known as Silverstream Maoribank Loan 1962 (£120,000) for the purpose of channel alignment control from Silverstream to Maoribank and constructing stopbanks from Brentwood to Maoribank, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,533

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,439

The number of informal votes was 20

I declare that the proposal was carried.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Mangaweka, taken on the 19th day of October 1962, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said town district be on the unimproved value:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 26

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
