Perfumes, Toilet Preparations, and Medicines Permitted to be
Made with Methylated Spirit
Land in the North Auckland Land District Acquired as
Permanent State Forest Land
WITH reference to section 290 of the Customs Act 1913, which
provides that, save so far as is otherwise provided by regulations made under that Act, every person is guilty of an offence who uses methylated spirit as an ingredient in any perfume, toilet preparation, flavouring essence, or tincture, or in any medicine (whether for internal or external application), or who sells any such article knowing the same to contain methylated spirit, it is hereby notified for public information that the preparations enumerated hereunder are articles approved for manufacture with methylated spirit without pyridine under paragraph (2) (c) of clause 155 of the Customs Regulations 1959 made under the said Act:
Ammoniated liniment of camphor.
"Beltona" lotion.
Liniment of aconite.
Liniment of belladonna.
Liniment of capsicum.
Liniment of mustard.
Liniment of opium.
Liniment of soap, and preparations, whether produced or manufactured in New Zealand or imported, which are suited for external use only and which, if imported, would be classed under Item 553.900.0 of the Customs Tariff.
(NOTE--A similar notification published in the Gazette of 4 October 1934 is hereby cancelled.)
