NOTICE is hereby given that the Excess Insurance Co. Ltd., a duly incorporated company having its registered office at 13 Fenchurch Avenue in the City of London, in England, and carrying on business in New Zealand at the offices of Messrs Laurensen and Green, Public Accountants, 141 Hereford Street, Christchurch, intends to cease to have a place of business in New Zealand on the expiration of three months from the date of first publication of this notice.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Loan 1962, £125,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £125,000 authorised to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the city water supply, the Dunedin City Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·144d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the above-mentioned date.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Elderly Persons Housing Loan 1962 £22,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £22,000 authorised to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting accommodation for elderly persons, the Dunedin City Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·0162d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the above-mentioned date.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in the matter of the Lower Hutt Borough Empowering Act 1927 and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Lower Hutt City Corporation proposes, by virtue of the above-mentioned Acts and of all other Acts and Powers it thereunto enabling, to execute a public work, to wit, the construction of an access way between Waterloo Road and Marina Grove in the City of Lower Hutt, and for the purposes of such public work the Council requires to take the land more particularly described in the Schedule for an access way; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said piece of land so required to be taken is deposited in the offices of the Council at Laings Road, Lower Hutt, and is there open for inspection during ordinary office hours; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said piece of land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said piece of land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Lower Hutt City Council at its offices situate as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the City of Lower Hutt containing 0·8 perches, more or less, being part of Section 29, Hutt District, and being also part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 12082, and being part of the land contained in certificate of title, Volume 480, folio 166, Wellington Registry, more particularly shown on a plan marked T.P. 14, and therein coloured red.

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

Borough of Devonport District Scheme Approved

PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1960, public notice is hereby given that the district scheme under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953 for the Borough of Devonport was approved by the Council by resolution passed at its meeting held on the 19th day of September 1962 after all objections, appeals, and arbitrations relating to the scheme had been disposed of and the scheme had been amended to give effect to all objections and appeals allowed and all amendments of the district scheme required by the Board had been incorporated.
