NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for admission, at concessionary rates of duty, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the goods described hereunder:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing on or before 21 June 1962. Submissions, which must be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, should be supported by information as to:
(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportions of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory costs in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Tariff Notice—Application for Withdrawal of Approval by the Minister of Customs
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for the withdrawal of the decision admitting the under-mentioned goods under item 352 (b) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:
Tiering or fork lift trucks (including attachments such as crane booms, shovels or scoops, barrel forks, reel and drum clamps, specially designed for use therewith) being self-propelled hoists for lifting goods on elevating forks or booms and stacking them in tiers.
These goods are currently subject to the following rates of duty:
British Preferential Tariff ..... Free
Most Favoured Nation Tariff ..... 20 per cent.
General Tariff ..... 25 per cent plus surtax of nine-fortieths of the amount of duty.
The application will not be dealt with until 21 June 1962, and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 21 June 1962.
Any such objection should be supported by:
(a) Information as to whether suitable equivalent goods are available or can be produced in New Zealand; and
(b) Details of landed cost and selling price, including any cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance, freight, exchange, other landing charges, and duty.

Tariff Notice—Decision on Application for Approval by the Minister
NOTICE is hereby given that the application notified in Tariff Notice 197* for the approval of the Minister of Customs of the under-mentioned goods under item 352 (b) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand, has been declined:
Hasher units, designed specifically for the processing of offal sections of carcasses into small particles.
