Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be a Tribal
Committee Area
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby
declares the parts of the Tamatea Tribal District described
in the Schedule hereto to be a Tribal Committee area for the
purposes of the said Act, and hereby assigns to the said area
the name Rakautatahi Tribal Committee area.
SCHEDULE
TAMATEA TRIBAL DISTRICT
Rakautatahi Tribal Committee Area
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence
of the Tukituki and Tukipo Rivers and proceeding up the
middle of the Tukipo and Makaretu Rivers to and up the
middle of the Maharakeke Stream to a point in line with
the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4236, in Block XI,
Takapau Survey District; thence westerly to and along
the northern boundaries of the said Lot 1 and part Section 1,
Block XI, Takapau Survey District, to and along the north-
western boundaries of the said part Section 1 and Lot 2,
D.P. 2162, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary
to the middle of the Mangapurakau Stream; thence down
the middle of that stream and Waikopiro Stream to and up
the middle of the Manawatu River to a point in line with
the north-eastern boundary of the Ngamoko Block in Block
II, Norsewood Survey District; thence to and along that
boundary to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence
northerly along the summit of that range to a point due west
of the source of the Tukituki River; thence due east to and
down the middle of the Tukituki River to the point of
commencement.

Formation of District Maori Council of Tribal Executives
PURSUANT to section 13 (7) of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act 1945, I hereby give notice that I have
approved the formation of a District Maori Council of Tribal
Executives for the Tairawhiti Maori Land Court District to be
known as Tairawhiti District Maori Council of Tribal Execu-
tives. The names of the Tribal Executives which are members
of the said Council are as follows:
Horouta No. 1
Hatea-a-Rangi
Takitimu
Kahungunu

Excluding Roads from Speed Limitation and Limited Speed
Zone Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Trans-
port hereby gives notice as follows:
- That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act
1949 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated
the 29th day of January 1958+ which relates to that portion
of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) formerly known
as the Auckland-Hamilton State Highway No. 7, in Mercer
Town District, is hereby revoked. - The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby
excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section
36 of the Transport Act 1949. -
The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is
hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes
of the Traffic Regulations 1956.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Mercer Town District:
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from the northern
boundary of Mercer Town District to the southern boundary
of Mercer Town District).
SECOND SCHEDULE
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 20 chains
measured northerly generally along the said State highway
from Miranda Road to a point 16 chains measured southerly
generally along the said State highway from Miranda Road).
