Tariff Notice—Application of Approval of the Minister of
Customs
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made
for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs,
of the under-mentioned goods under item 180 (7) (a) of
the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:
Stockinette, cotton, other than that admissible under Tariff
Item 181.
The application will not be dealt with until 19 April 1962
and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should
do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag,
Wellington, on or before 19 April 1962.
Any such objection should be supported by information
as to:
(a) The range of goods manufactured;
(b) The proportions of New Zealand and imported materials
used in the manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory costs in terms of materials, labour,
overhead, etc.

(Tariff Notice No. 194)
Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of
Customs
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for
the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs,

Knitted cotton chinchilla fabric, for use in the manufacture
of children’s dressing gowns.
The application will not be dealt with until 19 April 1962
and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should
do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag,
Wellington, on or before 19 April 1962.
Any such objection should be supported by information
as to:
(a) The range of goods manufactured;
(b) The proportions of New Zealand and imported materials
used in the manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory costs in terms of materials, labour,
overhead, etc.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of

Customs Tariff of New Zealand:
Hasher units, designed specifically for the processing of
offal sections of carcasses into small particles.
The application will not be dealt with until 19 April 1962
and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should
do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag,
Wellington, on or before 19 April 1962.
Any such objection should be supported by information
as to:
(a) The range of goods manufactured;
(b) The proportions of New Zealand and imported materials
used in the manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory costs in terms of materials, labour,
overhead, etc.

Tariff Notice—Decision on Application for Determination
NOTICE is hereby given that the application notified in Tariff
Notice No. 168 for the classification, by determination of
the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods has
been declined:
(a) Trickle irrigation systems comprising nozzles, hose, dilu-
tors, and joints, for drip watering:
(b) Nozzles for drip watering systems used in horticulture.

(Tariff Notice No. 198)
Tariff Notice—Application for Withdrawal of Approval by
the Minister of Customs
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for
the withdrawal of the decision admitting the under-mentioned
goods under item 448 (3) of the Customs Tariff of New
Zealand:
Electric elements in which the resistance wire is embedded
in refractory material, for electric cooking stoves and
ranges only.
These goods are currently subject to British Preferential
Tariff of 3 per cent and General Tariff of 10 per cent plus
surtax of nine-fortieths of the amount of duty.
The application will not be dealt with until 19 April 1962,
and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should
do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag,
Wellington, on or before 19 April 1962.
Any such objection should be supported by:
(a) Information as to whether suitable equivalent goods
are available or can be produced in New Zealand; and
(b) Details of landed cost and selling price, including c.d.v.,
and cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance,
freight, exchange, other landing charges, and duty.

Unclaimed Property—Notice of Election by the Public Trustee
to Become Manager Under the Public Trust Office Act
1957, Part V
WHEREAS, after due inquiry, it is not known where the owner
of the property described in the Schedule hereto is or whether
he is alive or dead; and whereas the gross value of the said
property (as estimated by the Public Trustee) does not
exceed £2,000 and, for the purposes of subsection (2) of
section 80 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957, the Public
Trustee is satisfied that it is advisable that he should become
the manager of the said property.
Now, therefore, the Public Trustee, in exercise of the
authority conferred upon him by the said subsection (2),
hereby elects to be manager of the said property under Part
V of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land situate in Oamaru containing one rood
being Section 3, Block LXXVIII, Town of Oamaru, and the
whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 2,
folio 48, Otago Registry. The land has frontage to Arun
Street and the registered proprietor is William Gordon of
Oamaru, bootmaker.

Unclaimed Property—Notice of Election by the Public Trustee

Auckland Registry (limited as to parcels), subject to right-
of-way and water rights created by conveyance 18965. The
land has frontage to Victoria Street West and is known as
“Cameron Place” and the registered proprietors of the three-
fourths share are Henry Kevey, soldier, James Patterson,
clerk, and Joseph Young, settler, all of Auckland.
