Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 21st day of May 1957 and published in the Supplement dated the 28th day of May 1957 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd day of May 1957, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

The following alterations to the General Scale of Charges shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1962.

PASSENGERS

11 Newspaper Reporters’ Tickets

Omit this regulation.

  1. Railway Employees’ Privilege Tickets

Paragraph 3: Omit this paragraph, and substitute the following:

  1. Second Class Privilege Season Tickets, available for one month, at one-fourth of the fares for monthly season tickets (regulation 14), subject to a minimum charge of 6s., or for three, six, or 12 months at three, six, or 12 times, as the case may be, the fares or minimum charges for monthly season tickets, may be issued to railway employees as provided by the regulations made in that behalf under the Government Railways Act 1949 and orders of the Government Railways Industrial Tribunal.

  2. Season Tickets

Paragraph 6: In the first line omit “15, and 18”.

Paragraph 8, subparagraph (a): Omit the last sentence.

  1. Ordinary Season Tickets

Omit this regulation and substitute the following:

  1. Ordinary Season Tickets

  2. Second class ordinary season tickets, available for distances not exceeding 70 miles, will be charged as follows:
