PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for recreation purposes and, further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Morrinsville, in trust, for that purpose.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Inangahua County Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve


PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Inangahua and revokes the reservation for ferry purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Areas for Operation of Motor Launches and Water Skiers


PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that for a period of two years from the date of this notice, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the areas of water firstly and secondly described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, and the area secondly described shall be an access lane.


FIRST SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that area of water in Lake Whakamaru enclosed by a rectangle of sides measuring 6¾ chains by 42½ chains with the northernmost side running due north-west by west for a distance of 42½ chains from a point on the northern shore of the lake 14½ chains due north north-east of Sandy Bay Point.

Secondly all that area of water in Lake Whakamaru bounded on the sides by parallel lines 5 chains apart running due south-west by south from the northern shore of the lake to the northern boundary line of the area firstly described and meeting it equidistantly from its middle point.


SECOND SCHEDULE

THE access lane shall be marked as follows:

  1. Brightly painted marker buoys each 50 yds apart commencing 50 yds from the edge of the water shall be suitably moored along each side of the access lane.

  2. At the water’s edge at each side of the access lane in line with the marker buoys there shall be placed a notice-board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted white with black letters.

  3. The aforesaid noticeboards shall contain the following notice:

“NOTICE

Motor Launch Regulations 1958

Access lane to water-skiing area through which motor launches and water skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per hour.

Water-skiing area 6¾ chains wide extends 18¾ chains north-west by west and 18¾ chains south-east by east of this access lane, the northern boundary being 1¼ chains from the shore measured from the centre line of this access lane.

Bathers Keep Out”

Licensing McCallum Bros., Ltd., of Auckland, to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore and Bed of the Sea at Karamuramu Island, Hauraki Gulf, as a Site for a Jetty and Hopper


PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licences and permits McCallum Bros., Ltd., of Auckland (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Karamuramu Island, Hauraki Gulf, as shown on plan marked M.D. 5112 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a jetty and hopper as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

Conditions

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be two pounds (£2), and the annual sum so payable shall be ten pounds (£10).

  3. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of February 1962.

  4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said jetty and hopper shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above high-water mark or at such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.
